Harassment of Female Practitioner Yang Yajie

(ClearWisdom Net) Dafa practitioner Yang Yajie, female, is a 35-year-old laboratory technician of the Xingcheng Bureau Grain Depot in Fuyu County, Jilin Province. Since July 20, 1999, she has been repeatedly harassed and illegally detained by the local police. Details of each incident are outlined below.

At about 2:30 pm on September 26, 1999, a plainclothes policeman happened to run into practitioner Yang Yajie and 17 other Dafa practitioners gathered at a practitioner's house. He immediately reported their presence to the police department. Xu Shuxian, Head of the Department Security Section, and ten other police officers, arrived shortly after and arrested the practitioners. Without any evidence, the 18 practitioners were illegally detained at the Sancha River Detention Center for 15 days, and were charged with disturbing social order.

At around 3 pm on October 30, 2000, Bai Jinwu, head of Daoxi Street Police Station, Sancha Town, Fuyu County, along with Wang Haoran and Liu (first name is unknown) suddenly arrived at Yang Yajie's home. They brought a search warrant, forced her to sign a release allowing them to search her home, then searched her home and confiscated two Falun Dafa books. Yang was then illegally taken to the police station where she was forced to sign a detention statement and was not given the right to appeal. She was to be detained for 15 days but her relatives negotiated for her release six days after her arrest.

At around 8 am on February 18, 2001, Liu Zhizhong, Deputy of Daoxi Street Police Station, Sancha Town went to Yang's home and deceived her into going to the police station with the lie that a county official would like to talk to her. When she arrived, Wu Xiaowei, the Chief of Police told her that a brainwashing "transformation" class was to be held for her and other Dafa practitioners in the town. Yang and 6 others were then forcefully taken to a hostel run by the County Education Bureau. The classes lasted almost a whole week and they were only allowed to go home at night.

At about 8 am on March 7, 2001, Wu Xiaowei, Chief of Daoxi Street Police Station, and Deputy Liu Zhizhong went to Yang's home again and forced her to attend another such class in accordance with the orders of higher officials. This time the classes were held in a remote location and the practitioners were not allowed to go home at all. They were thus illegally detained for 9 days.
