My Experience of Promoting the Fa to a Deaf Person

(Clearwisdom.net) I have done a lot of truth clarification and flyer distribution work since obtaining the Fa in January 1999. However, at the time I did not think I was getting results, because it was not obviously having an effect on people. Now I understand that I had an attachment: my pursuit of results.

Recently, something took place that greatly inspired me and brought me an awareness of my attachment. I know a Chinese person who is both deaf and mute. Because of a business connection, I often deal with him, and I promoted the Fa to him whenever possible. At first, he was deceived by the lies and slander made up by the Chinese government and was in a state of great resistance. I patiently explained to him by writing down why Falun Gong is good, why Jiang's criminal group is wrong and why the propaganda spread by Chinese government controlled TV and newspapers are fake. He read the paper carefully but didn't respond. I gradually felt that he could learn the truth. Since he is also a life to be saved, I didn't give up any opportunity to clarify the truth to him.

Toward the end of last year, a fellow practitioner told me a story about a Russian practitioner distributing truth-clarifying materials to passengers on international trains. They met a deaf and mute person when passing out flyers to every Chinese passenger. This man happily took the flyer, pointed to his heart and bowed deeply to the practitioners to express his gratitude. He cocked his thumb to praise Dafa and pointed in the direction of Beijing and waved his fist, showing that he disapproves of the Jiang regime's persecution of Falun Gong. The two practitioners were deeply touched. Afterwards I thought, could this man be that friend of mine? On January 7, he came to my home and told me about two foreigners giving him truth-clarifying materials of Dafa. I was sincerely joyful for his change. This time, I showed him the truth-clarifying videotape. When he saw the scenes of practitioners being beaten in Tiananmen Square and in labor camps, he became very upset. Sometimes he clenched his fists, and his body shook from anger. He was very happy when he saw the grand scenes of group practice and Falun Gong being supported by countries around the world. He learned about the truth and even asked me for a copy of Zhuan Falun--he wanted to learn Dafa. When he left he took some truth-clarifying materials to distribute. I was glad that another life was saved.

This incident has taught me much. Truth clarification must be consistent and we must grasp any opportunity to offer salvation to savable beings. It's our Dafa disciples' solemn and long-held responsibility.
