Today, 199 people published solemn declarations, reversing what they said and did that didn't conform to Dafa while under intense brainwashing, persecution and pressure. They declare all their improper words and actions to be completely void. From now on, they will firmly believe in Teacher and Dafa, and steadfastly keep up with Fa-rectification. They will clarify the truth thoroughly, eliminate the evil with righteous thoughts, offer people salvation and redouble their efforts to make up for the losses they have brought to Dafa.

The "610" Office in Liaoyang City (Liaoning Province) and the Political and Judiciary Committee of Hongwei District hired 30 armed policemen and plainclothes policemen in their effort to arrest Dafa practitioners. The perpetrators also used people who used to practice, but have enlightened along evil paths to persecute Dafa practitioners in brainwashing classes. These former practitioners include Huang Zhuxiu, Zhang Haiyan and Ling Xiuhua. Police from Aimin Police Division in Mudanjiang City (Heilongjiang Province) have recently escalated their persecution against Dafa practitioners. So far 10 practitioners have been arrested. The persecutors beat the practitioners, tortured them with devices such as the "iron chair" and the "tiger bench," tied them up in painful ways and denied them sleep. The police are trying to arrest more practitioners through the address books they confiscated from the arrested practitioners. We hope that other practitioners in the area will be careful and eliminate the evil with righteous thoughts.

Fearing official sanction, a villager named Wang from Liangzhong County, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, used to hamper his wife in her practice of Falun Gong. Not long after, he suddenly fell ill. Weeping bitterly, he said, "I wouldn't have got this disease if I practiced Falun Gong." He began to practice and after a month he was cured.

At Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp in Hebei Province, practitioners were hit with electric batons, had their hands cuffed and were hung up with rope, were brutally beaten and had to suffer other inhuman treatments. Now, six of the lawless thugs who participated in these atrocities have received punishment: Camp Director Wu Yuliang, Camp Politics Head Wang Bingfang, Disciplinary Inspection Section Chief Zhao Kai, Chief Qin Fengchun of Division 5, Han Dui of Division 1 and several others were arrested and imprisoned. Chief Li Yong of Division 1 was removed from office.

Corrupt government officials in Xinganmeng, Inner Mongolia, slandered the founder of Falun Gong and persecuted practitioners. Natural disasters followed as a warning sign for the people. After a rare blizzard attacked Keyouzhong Qi in Xinganmeng, Inner Mongolia, in the winter of 2001, on the 19^th of December 2001, the media reported that another snowstorm hit Jalait Qi in Xinganmeng.

Officials from the Forced Labor Camp Hospital in Gansu Province tortured 57-year-old Dafa practitioner Wang Guifu to death. This act brought disasters upon the local people. A construction accident took place in Tianshui City, Gansu Province, resulting in five deaths and many injuries. A fire broke out on "Audio-Video" Street in Qinan, Gansu.

Falun Dafa Overseas

A newspaper in Japan reported on January 14: Falun Gong members held a parade on January 13 in Nagoya, calling for the Chinese government to stop the persecution. So far there have been parades in five cities in Japan, including Tokyo and Osaka.

Cultivation Stories

Three examples of the effects of righteous thoughts:

1. While I was away from home, there were two occasions on which the police collected everyone's ID and checked them against computer files. In both cases, I sent forth righteous thoughts. As a result, the police checked everyone's ID but mine.
2. When I was printing truth-clarifying materials, the paper jammed in the printer. I realized that the trouble was a result of evil interference. I sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil behind the trouble. In a few minutes, the paper came out one page after another. Later on I stepped into a shop to drop off some truth-clarifying materials. The owner looked in my direction. I thought, "I am here to save you, so you should turn your head away." The owner then indeed turned her head away, as if she had just thought of something.
3. A fellow practitioner bought a printer, but we had trouble installing it. We suspected that the connection was bad, but the supplier did not give us an explicit answer when we called. Last time, the computer's motherboard was not functioning, and the repairs took a whole week. I realized that nothing happens by accident, so I sat down and sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil behind the computer supplier. A few minutes later, the supplier called us and said that they will come to fix the problem immediately.

The following is the story of a government official in Shandong Province who has been insisting on practicing Falun Gong. In the past two years, he has been subjected to various tortures and has been arrested twice. He was released on medical parole when the police saw he was in critical condition. Now he is wandering around, forced into a life of homelessness to avoid further inhumane persecution. However, he never stops practicing Falun Gong.

More and more people with predestined relationships come to learn Falun Dafa. A Japanese gentleman over 50-years-old had been looking for answers to his questions about life. It turned out that he met two Dafa practitioners when he was learning Chinese in Hong Kong. One day when one of the practitioners explained Dafa to him, he said, "This is the best class I have ever had. This is the most important thing in my life. I must read Zhuan Falun!"
