Dafa Disciples Are One Body

(Clearwisdom.net) Amidst the magnificent Fa-rectification work of clarifying the truth, exposing the evil and offering people salvation, we often unconsciously insist on our own viewpoints when problems arise and we see imperfections. This creates conflicts, and sometimes even brings damage and negative effects to Dafa. Tracing its root cause, I found this problem is largely attributable either to Dafa disciples' lack of understanding that Dafa disciples are one body, or to a lack of clarity about the big picture of Fa-rectification.

More specifically, this problem manifests when a Dafa disciple is passive, unsupportive, or even uncooperative when asked to do something that does not fully comply with his own point of view. Even after completing the assignment, he might still be upset over it, as he only did it unwillingly--and with human attachments. For example, on the subject of communicating with practitioners who were in a poor cultivation state, some practitioners--in order to cover up their selfish anxiety about being rejected--would say, "Since Master has made the Fa so clear and we all know how to act, I don't see a need for us to communicate [with them] now. If they haven't stepped forward, maybe they never will." However, if nobody has fallen behind, for whom has Master been waiting? In doing Dafa work, some practitioners compare the amount of work they have done relative to others. Although they do not speak about this, some grievances surface in their minds. Why do these issues still exist at this point of time? The fundamental cause involves negligence in Fa study, insufficient Fa study, or a failure to evaluate matters according to the Fa.

Master said, "You are one body, just like Master's gong--of course you and gong aren't the same thing, I'm just giving an example. It's just like my gong, which does different things at the same time." ("Lecture on the Fa at the Washington, D.C. International Conference") If we were indeed regarding ourselves as Master's gong, as diamond-solid and indestructible Dafa particles, would there still be gaps separating us? Would there still be the difference between "you" and "me"? Although we are working on different things for Dafa and taking different cultivation paths, we are only different parts of the same, one body. In Zhuan Falun, Master instructs us, "...when a person's body moves, the cells in the body will also move, and at the microscopic level all elements, such as all molecules, protons, electrons, and the most microscopic particles, will also move. Yet they have their own independent forms of existence, and the forms of the body in other dimensions will also undergo a change." ("The Supernormal Ability of Precognition and Retrocognition" in Lecture Two of Zhuan Falun). Actually, we differ only in our positions and our supernormal abilities--or functions and missions.

Master also said, "We stress holistic improvement and holistic upgrade." ("The Issue of the Celestial Eye" in Lecture Two of Zhuan Falun). How can we achieve this goal if one particle of us fails to upgrade him or herself? From the standpoint of the entire Fa-rectification situation, however, I found that my views have changed. I no longer have the notion that you and I are different; instead, I see that fellow practitioners and I are the same. If fellow practitioners are doing well, that means I am doing well; if fellow practitioners are not in a good cultivation state, I am not in a good state; and if fellow practitioners are being persecuted, that means I am also being persecuted. In a word, there is no gap at all between fellow practitioners and me, and we have become one harmonious and indestructible entity.

In the process of steeling our faith in Master and Dafa, assimilating ourselves to Dafa, and deterring interference, the myriads of our human attachments at different levels have disappeared to varying degrees. Gradually, our purely benevolent inborn natures have come out. As a result, the relationships among fellow practitioners have become more harmonious; the impure human mentalities and notions have dissolved; and the evils in other dimensions have been eliminated. Dafa disciples have ascended as one dignified, diamond-solid, indestructible entity--and this is a demonstration of Dafa's realness and oneness in the human world. Let me conclude by quoting Master: "The Fa-rectification moves through the world, the grand manifestation of Gods and Buddhas unfolds, and all of the chaotic world's unrighted wrongs and karmic relationships are settled with benevolent solutions." ("Foretelling the Fa's Rectification of the Human World").
