Washington DC Falun Gong practitioners gathered in Tiananmen Garden in front of the Chinese Embassy and urgently appealed to rescue Canadian Falun Gong practitioner Connie Chipkar. The practitioners wrote in their appeal letter, "Canadian Connie Chipkar, 61, demonstrated peacefully for Falun Gong on Tiananmen Square today and was taken away by police. Her whereabouts are unknown."

"Today, we gather here in front of the Chinese Embassy to call for the immediate and unconditional release of Connie Chipkar. We also sternly advise Jiang's regime to stop killing innocent Falun Gong practitioners. The whole world knows about your persecution and supports Falun Gong."

The practitioners took immediate action after hearing that Ms. Chipkar had been arrested at Tiananmen Square. Some got busy writing appeal letters, some contacted media and others brought posters. Within one hour they prepared for a press conference. A practitioner who lived far away came to participate and said, "I never reached the Embassy in such a short time. On my way, I thought I would not be on time for the press conference, but unexpectedly, the usual traffic jam disappeared and I had green lights the whole way."
