Party Secretary of a Chinese Town Changes His View of Falun Gong

One day, our Town's Party Secretary ordered me into his office because I am a Falun Gong practitioner. He had been deceived by Jiang's slanderous propaganda and wanted to force me to give up my belief in Falun Gong and Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance. Throughout our meeting, he kept telling me about the so-called "true situation" of Falun Gong at home and abroad, which was nothing more than the lies broadcasted by the state-controlled media. He said that the central government was taking the Falun Gong issue very seriously and was going to do something serious about it soon. He said that in China, one of the current causes of social instability was the practice of Falun Gong.

After saying this, he asked me if I would still practice Falun Gong. I replied, "Since we know each other very well, I have to tell you my true experience. I have benefited so much from the practice of Falun Gong. I used to have several serious diseases and tried for over ten years to treat them with medications and other Qigong exercises, but none of them worked. Ever since I started practicing Falun Gong however, all of these diseases have disappeared. It has now been several years, and none of them have returned. Knowing this, how could you possibly ask me to give up practicing Falun Gong?"

I continued, "It's not only me who has benefited, countless others have experienced many first hand miracles by practicing Falun Gong too. The principles our Teacher has explained to us really make sense. If you put them into practice, they really work. That is why so many practitioners will not give up Falun Gong despite threats of fines, detainment, torture, and even death."

Seeing that he was intrigued, I continued, "As for the claim of 'disrupting social stability', how could this possibly make sense? You know all of the local Falun Gong practitioners in the town, and you know we have been behaving ourselves very well all along. We are all good and noble people. Jiang has tried to damage the reputation of Falun Gong by saying that our fellow practitioners conducted self-immolation on Tiananmen Square. After further investigation however, the U.S. World Journal declared that the Tiananmen self-immolation incident was nothing more than a deadly plot to fabricate and frame Falun Gong practitioners."

"During the past three years, everyone outside of China has come to know more and more about the true nature of Falun Gong, and the cruel and despicable persecution carried out by Jiang's regime. Kindhearted people around the world are all standing up against the persecution, and there have been more than 800 awards and proclamations issued in support of Falun Gong by government officials in many nations. Many westerners have found Falun Gong beneficial and have begun the practice for themselves. The world needs Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance. The persecution of Falun Gong violates the principles of Heaven. Knowing this, how could you say Falun Gong is causing 'social instability'? In fact, it is the Jiang regime's persecution of Falun Gong itself that is truly causing social instability."

After I was finished, the Party Secretary asked the Vice-supervisor of the township to close the door. He then asked about the principles of Falun Dafa, the purpose of our Teacher's spreading of Dafa, and the purpose of cultivation, etc. After I answered these questions to his satisfaction, he then said, "I feel we are cooperating quite well and shall continue to do so in the future. I know how to deal with the pressure from above. Please be rest-assured, you can practice the Falun Gong exercises at home and nothing will happen to you."
