Central News Agency reported on October 11: Falun Gong practitioners in Canada held a luncheon meeting on Parliament Hill in Ottawa to show appreciation for the longstanding support from Canadians in all walks of life. At the luncheon, many congressional representatives appealed to the Prime Minister of Canada to, during the upcoming APEC meeting, ask Jiang to cease his persecution of Falun Gong. This is the first non-governmental function allowed by the Canadian government to be held on Parliament Hill since 9/11, demonstrating the support for Falun Gong by the Canadian government.
Falun Dafa Information Center, October 16: Chinese dictator Jiang is about to visit the United States. Various local governments in the U.S. have once again shown support for Falun Gong one after another. Since September, Missouri, New Jersey, Texas, Indiana, Delaware, etc have successively issued awards or proclamations for Falun Dafa Day. The officials in Yugang District, Fengtai County, Beijing have adopted tactics such as brainwashing, surveillance, and wage reduction to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. One practitioner was forced to abandon his home to avoid persecution. The officials still continued to harass and threaten his family. His child was subsequently forced to quit his job. Another practitioner was kidnapped and sent to brainwashing class. He went on a hunger strike to protest, and was sent to the detention center and force-fed, leading to high fever and pneumonia. With righteous thoughts he walked out of the evil den after enduring nearly 90 days of inhuman persecution.
