Mexican Human Rights Organization Appeals to End the Persecution of Falun Gong

(Clearwisdom.net) Jiang Zemin will attend the APEC meeting at the end of October. In order to help more people get to know the truth of Falun Gong, some Falun Gong practitioners in Mexico City are introducing Falun Gong and exposing Jiang's persecution of Falun Gong overseas to the people here.

One day, we received a call from a human rights organization in Mexico. They told us that one of their members picked up a Falun Gong flyer on the street, and they were very interested and wanted to know more about the issue.

Soon we were able to meet some of the leaders of the human rights group that upholds the freedom of belief and expression. The meeting lasted for several hours. Two practitioners demonstrated the exercises of Falun Gong during the meeting. One of the human rights activists knew of the human rights abuses in China, especially the authority's use of psychiatric hospitals to persecute its dissidents. She once contacted the personnel in the Chinese embassy and Chinese delegates, but she expressed regret over their denial of these facts. These human rights activists said that they would appeal for Falun Gong practitioners to end the unconscionable situation in China.

A short time later they arranged for us to talk with the chairperson of the Mexican government's human rights committee, and they also participated in Falun Gong practitioners' news conference in the Mexican Congress building.

Ms. Themis Cortes Lopoz, one of the leaders of the organization, said that after they received the flyer from Falun Gong, they investigated this spiritual cultivation group and contacted some practitioners. They found that Falun Gong is a wonderful practice, and very different from what the Jiang regime has claimed. They were worried about the persecution in China, and invited Falun Gong practitioners to fight against this terrible persecution together with them.

Ms. Lopoz also expressed that they would conduct more activities to help the Mexican people understand more about Falun Gong.
