On the morning of September 28, 2002, Chengguan District Court and Qilihe District Court in Lanzhou City illegally sentenced eight practitioners, including Zhang Xiaodong, to three to nine years in prison.

In October 2000, Zhang Xiaodong went to Beijing to appeal. On July 8, 2001, he hung seven Falun Dafa banners in different areas including Banxuan Lu in Ninghui County and Lanzhou City. On March 31, 2001, he mailed Dafa materials from a post office in Xiguan Shizi in Lanzhou City. This practitioner only applied his rights according to "the freedoms of speech and belief" guaranteed in the Chinese Constitution, yet was arrested and sentenced to prison.

On April 15, 2002, several practitioners, including Jia Honghai and Zhang Shouxiang, were arrested and sent to the Qingzhou City Detention Center. According to a reliable source, officials in Qingzhou decided to put "try" these practitioners in court on October 14, 2002.

The police in Qionglai City have tortured female practitioners Xue Yuzhen and Liao Chaoqi to death. Now they plan to murder another female practitioner. They posted a reward of 50,000 Yuan for her arrest and said that once she is caught, they will torture her to death. The police set up checkpoints along the route from Qionglai to Chengdu and arranged for plainclothes officers to search every passing vehicle using the excuse that a criminal had escaped from the Nanbaoshan Forced Labor Camp. We do not know this practitioner's whereabouts.

Mudanjiang "610" Office has persecuted several Falun Gong practitioners by torturing them to death, sentencing them to prison, sending them to forced labor camps, psychiatric hospitals, and drug rehabilitation institutions, sending them to brainwashing centers, and so on. Many practitioners were forced to leave their homes to avoid the persecution. The 610 office is now persecuting those practitioners who are still working. It is trying to open brainwashing classes in prisons and force every unit to provide a list of practitioners so that it can illegally detain and torture these practitioners until January 2003.

Bai Lanzhen, female, and a teacher at the Shijiazhuang Ninth Middle School, went to the provincial Second Hospital to take care of her critically ill husband. On September 18, employees from the "610" office tried to abduct her from the hospital. Bai resisted the evil and insisted that she would not go. However, they made a lot of noise in the patient's room and seriously disturbed that area of the hospital. Although the doctor came and told them that the patient was critical and the family should not leave, they forcefully took Bai to the Xinhua brainwashing center and have detained her there ever since.

A Falun Gong practitioner was a cadre at the county level. He was forced to leave his home for more than a year and was wanted by the local "610" Office.

On a September afternoon this year, he met a plainclothes officer when clarifying the truth about Dafa in a county's construction area. The police officer wanted to take him to the county police department and tried to prevent him from leaving by holding the practitioner's bicycle. The practitioner gave up the bicycle and ran into a cornfield. The police called many police from the county police department and surrounded the cornfield. The county police department also called the provincial capital and more police came with the police dogs. They started to search everywhere in the cornfield. Seeing the police acting as if facing a serious enemy, the practitioner wanted to laugh. Since he could not escape easily, he sat down and sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil in other dimension that was controlling the humans. Under constant righteous thoughts, so many police were wasted and the police dogs lost their ability to sniff him out. The police reluctantly left after midnight. The practitioner returned to his temporary residence at dawn, packed his belongings, and quickly changed to a new residence. The next day the police came to his original place and found nothing. The practitioner overcame the evil arrest with righteous thoughts.

Recently Dafa practitioners in Lanzhou City hung big banners in the city in order to resist the showing of films that slander Dafa. The police became very nervous and stared at every passenger on the street.

On September 1, 2002, Zhang Yarong from Wuji County was illegally arrested and sent to a brainwashing center in the county's People's Armed Forces. Three days later, she escaped the center with righteous thoughts but could not return home.

The following people have participated in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners: Gu Guoqiang, Hou Minjie, Yuan Junhui, Hu Wenlian, and Lang Tongxue

At 2 a.m. on September 27, 2002, several police officers arrested five Falun Gong practitioners in Kaifeng City. One of the practitioners escaped and was arrested again at the train station and sent to a psychiatric hospital. They sent the other four practitioners to the fourth section of the city's police department. The practitioners started a hunger strike. Practitioner Geng had cardiac problems and was sent to a detention center in the city's north suburb.

Because the practitioner had constant cardiac abnormalities, the police had to release her with her firm protest. The other three practitioners are still being illegally detained in the police department.

The politicians plan to show two films produced by Beijing Educational Motion Picture Studio and Shanghai Motion Picture Studio that slander Dafa and deceive the public. This deceiving propaganda was sponsored by government agencies including: the Shenyang City Communist Party Committee Propaganda Department, the Shenyang Communist Party Politics and Law Committee, the Shenyang Culture Bureau, the Shenyang Broadcast Television Bureau, Shenyang Bureau of Education, the city's governmental work committees, the Shenyang Labor Union, the Youth Party Committee, Shenyang Women's Federation, and the Shenyang Science Association.

At 11 p.m. on May 3, 2002, four police officers, including Wang Jun from Nanshan Police Station in Lingdong district, broke into Hu Yingjun's home and took 70-plus practitioner Hu and his son Hu Guangming. They asked the family to pay 2000 Yuan and threatened to send Hu to a forced labor camp. Hu and his son are still being detained.

On May 3, 2002, the director of the district's Party Committee led police officers from Beishan Police Station in Lingdong district, including Qu Yanhui, in breaking into Chen Shuyun's home and illegally confiscating her home. They forcefully took 53-year-old Chen into a police car and have been illegally detaining her for over 5 months.

The Shuangyashan "610" office and the police department crazily arrested Falun Gong practitioners in September and illegally confiscated the practitioners' homes. Several practitioners were arrested.

Cui Xuewei, female, 36, a member of the Bank of China, was arrested on September 19, 2002 while posting Dafa materials in Huyuan district.

Yang Daili, female, 40, was arrested on September 26, 2002.

Ma Qinghua and Ma Qingfen are sisters. They were arrested while clarifying the truth about Dafa in Lingdong district.

At the beginning of August 2002, Ciyutun in Liaozhong County set up an illegal brainwashing center. More than 40 practitioners have been taken there by force. Various measures were used to forcefully brainwash the practitioners and try to make the practitioners give up their belief in Truth, Compassion, and Forbearance. On October 9, officials from all levels of the government visited the centre and said that they would arrest practitioners from the countryside after October 18 and send them to the brainwashing center. They sent the practitioners who refused to accept the brainwashing to Shenyang City Zhangxhi Forced Labor Camp to be tortured.

Xing Xiao, male, 26, a graduate from Hebei Medical University, worked at the provincial Traditional Medicine Hospital. He was sent to a brainwashing class in October 2001 and betrayed Dafa five days later. He has been staying there and persecuting Dafa practitioners. He recently became the principle persecutor who is in charge of organizing people who will torture the practitioners using such measures as, smearing practitioners' faces with medicine, shouting at the practitioners, sleep deprivation, and deceitful tricks in order to confuse the practitioners.

Zhao Juyong, male, 40s, was sent to a detention center in the Northeast for opening banners in Beijing at the end of 2000. He is still suffering hearing loss from being slapped on the head while in a detention center. Later, he was sent to Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp and then Beijing Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp. In Tuanhe, he betrayed Dafa and became the evil's assistant. In the end of 2001, he tortured Falun Gong practitioners in Hebei Brainwashing Center using such measures as including yelling insults, squeezing practitioners noses, twisting their ears, stepping on their toes, and disallowing them to use the toilet. These torture methods were painful yet didn't leave much physical evidence so they were difficult to prove. In the beginning of June 2002, he returned to his former position of Director of Shijiazhuang City Minxin River Manages Office.

Married couple Liu Kunjian and Chen Ping betrayed Dafa at the end of 2001 and have been staying in a brainwashing center to torture the practitioners.

Liu Lihui, male, 30, was sent to a forced labor camp twice and has been tortured. However, after he betrayed Dafa, he became the evil's assistant from the end of 2001 until June 2002.

Yang Kailiang, male, 30s, formerly worked at the South station of Shijiazhuang Railway. He tortured practitioners from the end of 2001 until June 2002.

Song Zhenfeng, male, 25, a former worker at Handan Railway Power Supply, was sent to the brainwashing center at the beginning of 2002.

Zhang Jinjing, male, 34, formerly worked at the Shijiazhuang Railroad Subdivision. He was sent to a brainwashing center in the beginning of 2002 and has been persecuting practitioners there after betraying Dafa.

Jin Weiping, female, 30s, was sent to a brainwashing class at the beginning of 2002. After betraying Dafa, she even wanted to help the evil arrest her husband He Dong, a Dafa practitioner who was forced to leave home to avoid persecution.

Yang Shuangmin, female, 40, tortured practitioners after she betrayed Dafa. Currently, she is assisting in persecuting practitioners in Jinzhou City.

Wei Shufen, female, 40s, is persecuting practitioners in Hebei Brainwashing Center.

Qi Lihuan, female, 50s, persecuted practitioners for a month in a brainwashing center. She is now working in the Shijiazhuang railway passenger transportation section.

Police officer Kong Fanyun, male, 45, ordered the people who betrayed Dafa to torture practitioners using such measures as sleep deprivation, pouring liquor down their throats, and viciously slandering Dafa and Teacher.

Police Yuan Shuqian, male, 28, formerly worked at Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp. He is used to deceive the practitioners with lies, distort Minghui.net articles, and write words on practitioners' bodies that defame their belief.

Zhang Yongsheng and wife An Jing used to work in the Liaozhong County Agriculture and Power Bureau. After betraying Dafa, Zhang volunteered to assist the evil in a brainwashing center in Ciyutun. He secretly looked for people released from the brainwashing center who wrote statements promising to give up Falun Gong so he could report them when they practiced Falun Gong again in order to obtain rewards.

Since October 9, 2002, the theaters in Nanchang City show three films that slander Dafa. The politicians require that each work unit organize Party members, Youth Party members, and the students to watch [the films].
