The "Global Action Committee for Rescuing the Family Members of Falun Gong Practitioners" Is Founded
(Clearwisdom.net) The "Global Action Committee for Rescuing the Family
Members of Falun Gong Practitioners" who are persecuted in China, which is comprised of
more than fifty volunteers from ten countries, was founded on September 28,
2002.
Due to the Jiang dictatorship's escalation of the persecution of Falun Gong in
China, there are already more than one hundred thousand Falun Gong practitioners
illegally detained in jails and in forced labor camps across the country, where
they are relentlessly persecuted and tortured. Even after some have been released
and returned home, they are still placed under 24-hour surveillance. This
large-scale persecution has even spread to countries overseas, where there are
many families and friends who themselves were once severely persecuted for
practicing Falun Gong in China.
Practitioners with family members who are imprisoned or under surveillance in
China have actively joined together to establish this action committee. To date,
the participants in this global action committee to rescue family members come
from Canada, the United States, Brazil, Ireland, Holland, Germany, Australia,
Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong.
The action committee is planning a series of activities, including making
appeals to the leaders of various countries, as well as to those who will attend
the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum, to be held October 2002 in
Mexico. The committee will encourage the international delegates to direct their
attention and concern toward the persecution of Falun Gong, and urge the Jiang
regime to not only cease the persecution of their family members immediately, but to completely end the campaign of persecution against Falun Gong.
The committee also hopes to garner support from the many kind-hearted people
in the world, especially those whose own family members may be persecuted for
practicing Falun Gong, to actively join their rescue efforts.
