Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Hong is still detained at Jiamusi City's Forced Labor Camp. For a period of time, this forced labor camp spent half an hour every day, from 10:00 a.m. on, broadcasting articles smearing Teacher and slandering Dafa. This is another means at this labor camp to brainwash Dafa practitioners. The guards forced us to sit on stools in a queue and listen. We all refused to listen and resisted the vicious persecution. Zhang Hong refused to sit down to listen and kindly clarified the truth to a female guard. In a short while, three to four guards broke in and forcibly held her down on the stool, but she just refused to sit. They dragged Zhang Hong away and claimed, "You refuse to sit on the stool, and so we will make you sit on a comfortable bench. Try it out yourself." They tied Zhang Hong to a "tiger bench," a notorious torture instrument, for as long as two months. Her legs became black and blue and were so swollen that she could not walk. The guards then sent her to the "Stringent Team" for further persecution. They tied her to a bed with both her arms vertical to her body for over 20 days. Zhang Hong was tortured very badly, but she endured the tremendous pain. Her unyielding determination in the face of violence, her striking willpower and her steadfast faith in Dafa forcefully shocked the evil and inspired other Dafa practitioners being held at this camp.

Ms. Wang Fengwei is 39 years old. Before practicing Dafa, she had serious liver disease that hospitals could not cure. After practicing Dafa, the disease disappeared. In 1999, she validated Dafa by telling her own experience. She was detained many times, suffered all kinds of tortures and had to leave home and live in exile. On January 15, 2002 (according to the Chinese Lunar Calendar), police arrested her while she was clarifying the truth to people. She has been detained at Xin County's Detention Center for nearly nine months. During that period she was tortured with all kinds of excruciating means, but she still insisted on practicing Dafa. At present, she is still in handcuffs and shackles and the police beat her from time to time. Due to the long-term abuse she suffers from serious ascites [An abnormal accumulation of serous fluid in the abdominal cavity.] and is very weak. Her life is in danger.

We appeal to all people of justice to give us moral support, and lend a hand to Wang Fengwei and millions of innocent practitioners like Wang who practice Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance who are now suffering excruciating tortures .

Mr. Kong Lingbin was a staff member of Xinji City's Chinese Medicine Hospital. Because he persisted in cultivating Falun Dafa, he was persecuted many times. Recently, he was again arrested and detained at Xinji City's Detention Center. In order to protest the persecution, he has staged and been on a hunger strike for over two weeks. Personnel from Xinji City's "610 Office" sent him to a hospital for emergency treatment and then sent him right back to the detention center. It's said that his life is now in critical danger. (Please note: The "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems).

Recently, personnel from the "610 Office" attached to Xinji City's Police Department arrested several practitioners without legal reason. Lawless policemen climbed over the walls and broke into homes to arrest Ms. Wang Sujie from Tianjiazhuang Qingjing Village, and Mr. Zhang Yonghe from Pengliuzuo Village when they were asleep.

One day in April 2002, policemen from the Nanwei Police Office, Dongfeng Precinct, forcibly took practitioner Ms. Li Guiqin away from her workplace, brought her back home and ransacked her home. In the meantime, they attempted to extort 1,000 Yuan from her [500 Yuan is the monthly average income in urban areas of China]. After being refused, they threatened the officials at Li's work unit to fire her. Afterwards, Li lost her job.

At 8:00 p.m. on September 26, when Li was at home, policemen knocked on her door at night and wanted to take her away, but Li refused to go with them. On the morning of the second day, two policemen rushed into her home when Li's children went to school. They attempted to take Li away, but Li protested. Then another two policemen came in and ransacked her home. They took away the Falun Gong exercise's music tape and Dafa books. At night, Li was put into a detention center. Her family was not notified until late night. Li is still detained.

The day in April of 2002 when a new round of persecution began, policemen from the Nanwei Police Station, Dongfeng Precinct, went to the Sanjiang Food Company and forcibly took practitioner Mr. Dong Changhe, a bus driver, to the police office. During the detention, policemen injured Dong Changhe, and then illegally sentenced him to two years of forced labor. Dong Changhe got out of the labor camp with his righteous thoughts and actions, but the policemen did not give up. They harassed his family members many times. On September 26, policemen from the Nanwei Police Station went to Dong's home and broke the door open with the excuse of verifying resident identification cards. When they found Dong was not at home, they were outraged. They arrested a young man who was not a practitioner but was just temporarily staying at Dong's home. Then they went to Dong's son's home to search.

Dafa practitioner Ms. Lin Shan is the former Youth League director from Guangdong Province's Police Department. She is very kind and righteous and wins her colleagues' praise. After being tracked by police, she became the first female Dafa practitioner arrested in Guangzhou City. Lin Shan was forced to leave the police department. At the farewell meeting, her words from the bottom of her heart touched many kind colleagues and some could not help crying.

An order was passed down at the meetings of local residential committees that from October 15 onward, all over the country a new round of persecution against Falun Gong practitioners would begin.

Lawless officials in Changde City, Hunan Province illegally put determined Dafa practitioners into long-term detention. Among them, Ms. Song Zhezi, an about 50-year- old Dafa practitioner, arrested in July, was illegally transferred to Zhuzhou City's Bamalong Female Forced Labor Camp.

I'm a countryman, 51 years old. In 1996 I suffered from a certain type of liver illness and all members of the whole family worried about my health. The suffering made me depressed. Hospitalization, injections, medicine and folk prescription, and seeing doctors everywhere did little to help me while the illness continued to aggravate. I felt my death was drawing near, and I almost could not survive from the excruciating pain. Within this two-year period, the expenses to treat my illnesses cost me tens of thousands of Yuan [200 Yuan is the average monthly income in rural areas of China].This heavy economic burden strained my family's finances to the maximum.

In July 1998, I began to practice Falun Gong. After reading Teacher Li's Zhuan Falun, I understood the principles of being a good person. Teacher Li require us to be a good person in society, according to "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." I practiced the exercises and read Zhuan Falun. Less than one month later I went to the hospital for a check-up. The incurable liver disease had disappeared. My family was very happy to know I was totally recovered. My relatives and friends were all shocked at my recovery through practicing Falun Gong. Falun Gong gave me a new life when I was desperate.
