Houston Practitioners Continue to Hold Free Workshops to Introduce Dafa to Surrounding Cities (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) In order to help more local residents to know the goodness of Falun Dafa and benefit from it, and to let them learn about the Jiang regime's inhuman and brutal persecution of Dafa cultivators, Houston Falun Dafa practitioners continue to hold free workshops to introduce Dafa to the surrounding cities.

The practitioners first contacted the local media in the surrounding cities, explaining to them that Falun Gong is a very beneficial cultivation practice of mind and body. Over 100 million people in more than 50 countries are practicing it, but it is unreasonably persecuted in China. As a result, over 500 practitioners have died as a result of torture and police brutality, tens of thousands have been jailed, sent to forced labor camps and even incarcerated in mental hospitals. After hearing our introduction, most of the media expressed that they wanted to interview us. We also told them that there would be free workshops in their cities and invited them to come.

Local newspapers would usually help us advertise Falun Gong workshops for free, and local residents would come to attend the workshops after reading the news. Sometimes they made a phone call in advance inquiring if we charged money and what they should wear for the workshop.

Once, two older ladies came to the Brenham Library, where a free workshop was supposed to be held, but they came at a wrong time and found nobody there. They thought the workshop was held at 2 p.m., but in fact it had been held at 10 a.m. They learned that we would hold a free workshop in another city -- College Station, so they drove for an hour to attend the workshop there. They learned earnestly and asked many questions. In the end, they asked us to hold workshops in Brenham again, so they would save a lot of time, and their friends and family members could also attend.

During the break, we introduced the topic of the persecution of Falun Gong and shared that for simply wanting to become a better people through practicing Falun Gong, practitioners in China are subjected to arrest, beatings, and even being tortured to death. The attendees shook their heads and expressed that it was inconceivable. A resident said that she would go to appeal if China's dictator comes again.

Since July 20^th, 1999, many newspaper editors and reporters have read a lot of information about Falun Gong, but they haven't had an opportunity to interview practitioners, so they are happy to interview us. They also interviewed local residents who attended the workshops, listening to them sharing their experiences of learning and practicing the exercises. Recent reports about Falun Gong in Houston-area newspapers have been quite positive.
