Strengthened by Teacher and Full of Righteous Thoughts, I Walked out of the Detention Center with Dignity

(Clearwisdom.net) During a large-scale roundup of practitioners on the 2002 National Day holiday, the police sent me to a detention center where I was interrogated for several days on end. The police tried to extort a confession from me, threatening to torture me to death.

While facing such evil persecution, I remembered Teacher Li's words in "The Knowing Heart" (from Essentials for Further Advancement II) and made up my mind to protect Dafa no matter what happened.

I started a hunger strike the same day I was detained. At the same time, I kept reciting Dafa articles, sending forth righteous thoughts every hour on the hour, doing Dafa exercises and sending forth righteous thoughts by raising my right hand in front of my chest every midnight. I made my judgments according to Dafa, clearly recognized that the persecution is evil, and used Dafa as my guide to overcome difficulties.

In the article "Dafa is indestructible" (from Essentials for Further Advancement II), Teacher Li said, "Master wants to save all sentient beings. But the evil forces are truly committing sins against Dafa by using all sentient beings, with the ultimate purpose of destroying them." In Touring North America to Teach the Fa, Teacher Li said, "If your righteous thoughts are truly strong, if you're able to put aside the thought of life and death, and if you're solid and unshakable like diamond, then those evil beings won't dare to touch you, because they know that other than killing you any type of persecution will be useless. The evil will have no choice but to leave you alone. If in this scenario the evil still persecutes you, then Master will show no leniency. Master has countless Law Bodies, and on top of this, there are countless righteous Gods helping me do things, and they will directly eliminate the evil, too. Didn't I tell you before that each of you Dafa disciples have eight types of Heavenly Law-Guardians protecting you? It's all because you haven't done well enough that all these Gods are being restrained by the old cosmos's Fa-principles and can't do anything, despite their really wanting to help." When I recalled these words from our Teacher, I no longer felt that I was besieged by evils in a horrible jail alone, rather I was basking in the Buddha's light. I was a particle of the Fa, and I was helping Teacher to rectify the Fa at this special moment in history. I became more determined and confident in denying the arrangements of the old forces.

I was arrested because I clarified the truth situation about the persecution of Falun Dafa to people. This persecution is forced upon Dafa practitioners by the old forces with the excuse of getting rid of our attachments and karma. As Teacher talked about, we practitioners should deny the arrangements of the old forces. I should leave this jail to return to the powerful current of Fa--rectification, to save people by telling them the facts of the situation. So I solemnly warned the old forces from the depths of my heart: you should know that validating Dafa and saving sentient beings are the most righteous things in the universe. Nobody should be against it or persecute it, and whoever is against it is committing crimes. In the following ten days or so, I kept on reciting Dafa articles, sending forth righteous thoughts, and continuously looking inward using Dafa as a guide. I refused to cooperate with the evil, answer any questions or sign any papers, or let them take my fingerprints. I persisted in eliminating evil factors in the other dimensions that are behind the persecution. When difficulties arose, I asked for Teacher's help and foiled the police's plans.

Once a group of policemen surrounded me and wanted to force-feed me. At that moment, I recited Teacher Li's Fa-rectification formulas in my heart, and asked Teacher Li to eliminate the persecution imposed upon me by the evil. I took the opportunity to clarify the truth of Dafa to them and raised many examples of the good deeds I've done after I learned Dafa. I told them that I would not yield to the pressure and warned them that they would be responsible for any consequences if they force-fed me. When I was talking with them, someone suddenly came in and asked to talk with their leader about an emergency situation, so they could not continue the force-feeding. Another attempt to force-feed me was stopped in a similar way.

Teacher Li said, "When you conduct yourselves righteously Master can do anything for you." (Touring North America to Teach the Fa). With the help of Teacher Li, I headed off dangers many times. My experience showed the omni-present power of Dafa and our Teacher.

During the last few days of my hunger strike, several times I almost fell and fainted when I tried to stand up, but each time an invisible current would enter the top of my head and travel through my entire body, and I instantly woke up again and stood firmly. I know that this was Teacher Li strengthening me.

During the last one or two days of my hunger strike, I was extremely weak, my hands and feet became very cold, and my body felt stiff. However, the only thought in my mind was safeguarding Dafa. At that critical moment, I saw myself entering a huge meeting hall, where innumerable Dafa practitioners were waiting for fellow Dafa practitioners who were late. I knew I was late. Over there, I also saw the magnificent scenes where the Fa has been rectified. The scenes are so beautiful and dignified that they are far beyond what human language could describe. I also felt that the tremendous power of Fa rectification has come very close to the surface dimension. I couldn't stop my tears from flowing. At that moment I heard someone talking outside of the room I was staying in: "Falun Gong is so great. He would rather die than submit. He hasn't eaten anything for more than ten days. If it was one of us, after just a few days we would be dead." I knew that Teacher Li was encouraging me through this person's mouth.

While I was on the hunger strike, fellow Dafa practitioners outside of the jail were also sending forth righteous thoughts to eliminate evil and reduce the persecution against me. Some fellow practitioners went to the detention center to clarify the truth of Dafa to policemen at great risk to themselves. Our Dafa practitioners have truly become one body. Finally, right before the September 9 of 2002 (Lunar Calendar), I was released unconditionally. I returned to the mighty current of Fa-rectification.
