Dafa Disciple Gao Wenzhi Forced to Undergo Brainwashing Even After Being Crippled By Torture

(Clearwisdom.net) Gao Wenzhi, male, is a Dafa disciple from Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. He is over 30 years old and an employee of the Northern China Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Factory in Hebei Province. On March 10, 2002, four plainclothes policemen went to his home, threatening him and asking him to sign a so-called "Guarantee Statement" to give up Falun Gong. After Gao refused, they attempted to take him away by force to be brainwashed. To escape from his persecutors, Gao jumped to the ground from the third floor, injuring his lower back and legs. Gao's injuries crippled him. Even after hospital treatment, he still could not walk without crutches. Gao was much liked and respected in his neighborhood, and his family had always been harmonious. He was a good person that everyone praised, and his once-happy family, were forced to suffer like this. Everyone who knew him felt he was treated unfairly.

However, even though he was now disabled, his persecutors were not finished with him. Fearing that their criminal actions would be exposed, the policemen sent someone to monitor him after he returned from hospital. Sometime in September 2002, the officials in Gao's working unit summoned him to the Northern China Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Factory on false pretenses and illegally detained him there. A few days later, Gao was forcibly taken to the "Judicial Education and Training Center" in Hebei Province, in reality a brainwashing center, and forced him to undergo brainwashing and tortured him there. In that brainwashing center, the staff continually deprive practitioners of sleep and even deny them use of the bathroom. They use every despicable and violent means to try to force practitioners to yield and renounce their belief in Dafa. Gao has now been illegally detained and continually tortured for about two months.

For over a year the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] in Hebei Province and Shijiazhuang City has been pressuring all working units in Shijiazhuang City to arrest Dafa disciples through deception, kidnapping, and many other means, legal or not. Meanwhile, they have illegally confiscated large amounts of money and property this way. They force employers to pay 10,000 to 20,000 Yuan for each Dafa disciple kidnapped. Especially those working units in a good financial situation have become the chief targets of such extortion. [500 Yuan is the average monthly income of an urban worker in China.]
