I Was Nearly Tortured to Death by Dayi County Public Security Sub-Bureau Police in Sichuan Province By a practitioner in China (Clearwisdom.net) I am an older female Dafa practitioner from Ziyang City, Sichuan
Province. On October 4, 2002, I was nearly tortured to death by the police from Dayi County Public
Security Sub-Bureau of Ziyang City. At approximately 4:00 a.m. on September 25, 2002, a group of policemen kicked open the door of my
relative's home in Dayi County and forcibly handcuffed me, my relative, and another three people.
They then took us to the Criminal Police Section of Dayi County Public Security Sub-Bureau. Zhou
Wencai, the chief officer of the section, repeatedly beat my face and kicked me until I nearly lost
consciousness. Even now, my left shoulder is in a lot of pain and I cannot move it. Soon after, the
police handcuffed an older woman and I in a cell with both hands tied together behind our backs. We
were then confined under these conditions for 36 hours and forbidden to use the restroom, drink
water, eat, or sleep. I gradually found it difficult to breathe. I then warned them that I had a
severe heart condition before and never had I suffered from this illness again ever since I started
cultivating Falun Gong. However, now I felt very uncomfortable in the heart because of their abuse.
They then sent me to a Drug Rehabilitation Center. I requested my release under the condition that I
was declared not guilty of anything. Although during this period of time it was very difficult to
breathe, and twice I had suffered chest pains, they still refused to release me. At that
point, I decided to start a hunger strike. On October 3, Zhang, the head of the center, handcuffed both my hands and feet to iron bars in
the spread eagle position and pulled my head backwards by my hair, making my head squeeze into the
space between the two iron bars that was narrower than the width of my head. This caused me extreme
pain and dizziness. With my face looking upward, he tightly held both my nose and check, and started
savagely force-feeding me. Another older lady, practitioner Liao Chaoqi, was tortured to death that
night after an extended period of brutal force-feeding. Late that night, my breathing became heavy
and I suffered chest pains. My entire body began to twitch and I lost consciousness. When I woke up
at 8:00 a.m. on October 4, I found that I was in a hospital and my pulse was up to 218 heartbeats
per minute. At about 9:00 a.m. that morning, the chief political officer, the deputy chief of the Dayi County
Public Security Sub-Bureau, and a few policemen came to the ward where I was located. Policeman Chen
declared that they would not let me go until I told them what they wanted. I immediately said to
them, "It is impossible to get even a word of information about other practitioners from my
mouth!" As a result of the brutal persecution I suffered from the Dayi County Public Security Sub-Bureau,
particularly the tortures imposed by Zhou Wencai, the chief officer of criminal section, and Zhang,
the head of the Drug Rehabilitation Center, both my body and mind were severely injured. Even up to
this day, I still have an abnormal pulse and continue to feel very uncomfortable, dizzy, and
disoriented. Since July 20, 1999, due to the inhumane persecution of Falun Gong, my family has been broken
apart. My husband was tortured to disability by his workplace, the Ziyang Lanjun Automobile
Manufacturing Company. Moreover, my workplace stopped my retirement pension. Furthermore, the Party
Secretary Li Guanglin and security guard Luo Zuli of my workplace even cooperated with the police to
have me kidnapped. After I was released, the Ziyang Public Security Bureau still sent police to search me,
attempting to catch me again. I was forced to leave my residence and live on the streets to avoid
further persecution. Then in October 2002, my life was nearly taken by the Dayi County Public
Security Sub-Bureau. All of what I have endured during the past 3 years is merely because I strive to be a healthy,
good person with high moral standards, to live by the principle of
"Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." October 10, 2002 Posting date: 11/3/2002
