At midnight on September 27, seven policemen from Wuxue City's Longping Police Precinct of Hubei Province, led by deputy director Xu Jinbiao, arrested Dafa practitioner Liu Yongming with fabricated accusations and sent him to the so-called "Wuxue City Law Education Class."

On October 4, because Liu Yongming shouted "Falun Dafa is good" in the "law education class," personnel from Wuxue City's Security Department forced him into the Fangjialing Mental Hospital, where he was injected with unknown drugs and became incoherent. His family many times requested the police to release him but nobody paid any attention to their request. Liu Yongming is still detained at the mental hospital and suffers inhumane torture. We appeal to all people with a sense of justice to try and rescue him.

On October 18, 2002, in collusion with Shenyang City's Liming Hangfa Group Co., Ltd persons from Shenyang City's "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] forcibly took Ms. Liu Yaqiu and Ms. Han Yongmei from their work places and illegally sent them to a brainwashing class in the Zhangshi Forced Labor Camp, for steadfastly cultivating in Falun Dafa.

On October 3, 2002, personnel from the Tumuji Forced Labor Camp were dispatched to the male prisoners' division to hold a meeting of Dafa practitioners. They set forth the so-called judiciary order of extending detention terms of steadfast Dafa practitioners. All those Dafa practitioners who refused to write the "four statements"(guarantee statement [A statement to declare that he or she is remorseful for practicing Falun Gong and guarantees not to practice Falun Gong again, not to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and never again associate with any Falun Dafa practitioners.], dissociation statement [A statement to declare a dissociation with Falun Gong], repentance statement [A statement to acknowledge remorse for practicing Falun Gong] and criticizing statement [A statement to fabricate stories to slander Falun Gong]), will have their detention terms illegally extended by 3 to 12 months.

Dafa Practitioner Mr. Shan Xiaochen, 32 years old, an official of Chifeng City's Electricity Bureau, was illegally sentenced to three years of forced labor. His detention term had expired on October 7, 2002 when he should have been released. But on that day, persons in the Administration Section of the Tumuji Forced Labor Camp illegally extended his detention term by three months, the reason being Jiang's order not to release any Falun Gong practitioner before the 16^th National Congress.

On the night of September 19, 2992, policemen from Shaoyang City's Police Department began to illegally arrest Dafa practitioners. Dozens of Dafa practitioners were arrested. The raid is still ongoing. Policemen are trying to arrest all practitioners who are still practicing Falun Gong. The arrested practitioners' whereabouts are unknown. Policemen forbid anyone to see these practitioners. Even their families are forbidden from contacting them.

Practitioner Mr. Bi Yunfei from Harbin City of Heilongjiang Province, 39 years old, was arrested by the Xiangfang Police Precinct of Harbin City's Police Department and illegally sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment. Now he is detained at Heilongjiang Province's Xinjian Jail.

Beginning October 1 in anticipation of the 16^th National Congress, Jiang's regime has escalated the persecution against Falun Gong practitioners. It was said any practitioner in the company of another practitioner in his/her home would be arrested.

On around the New Year's Day of 2001, practitioner Mr. Huang Cheng from Chongqing City was illegally arrested and put into a forced labor camp because he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. In August 2002, he was sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment and sent to Chongqing City's Yongchuan Forced Labor Camp. But for unknown reasons, he was transferred back to Beibei District's Detention Center in Chongqing City after a couple of days of detention. He is very weak and crippled from torture.

At midnight on January 2, 2002, without proper reason, practitioners Mr. Zhou Duren and Ms. Tang Rong from Chongqing City were both arrested at home while they were sleeping. Afterwards, for months, the authorities tried to extort a confession. In mid- September 2002, Zhou Duren was illegally sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment. He was temporarily detained at Chongqing City's Shapingba Baihelin Detention Center. Tang Rong was detained there, too, and forced to do heavy manual labor daily. Now she is detained at Chongqing City's Maojiashan Female Labor Camp.

Ms. Liu Zhaoqin, 58 years old, is a retired doctor from the No. 334 Hospital of Jiangxi Province's Hongdu Corporation. She was illegally detained twice for appealing for the Falun Gong in Beijing in 1999, and was unlawfully sentenced to 18 months of forced labor without any legal procedures. She was not released at the expiration of her detention term. On the contrary, the term was extended by three months. She suffered all manner of brutal tortures and persecution from the drug addict inmates at Jiangxi Province's Female Forced Labor Camp. In order to shirk their responsibilities, the labor camp authorities once forced her to write "the letter" before her death [to declare that she will take responsibility of any consequences caused]. She kept protesting with a huger strike for over five months, and was subsequently released for hospitalization. After she stayed home for three months, the people from the Hongdu Police Precinct ransacked her home. Failing to find any evidence, policemen illegally detained her again. Liu Zhaoqin resisted the evil and once more protested with a hunger strike for 16 days in the detention center. She was then sent to a hospital, where she continued the hunger strike for over four months. With the help of fellow practitioners, she got out of the detention center, but was forced to leave home to avoid further persecution. A month later, policemen from Nanchang City arrested her. Following that, officials from the Hongdu Police Precinct sent her into Nanchang City's Qingyunpu Detention Center, ignoring the fact that she was physically incapacitated and could not take care of herself. At present, she is still in detention. None of her family members and friends are allowed to see her. She was not even allowed to receive anything people bought for her, according to the detention center "regulations."

Her daughter Xiaojie is also a practitioner who is now forced to leave home with her school-age child to avoid further persecution. Xiaojie's whereabouts are still unknown. Policemen keep harassing her family in order to arrest her.

[Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Brutal Torture of Dafa Practitioners at Yanbianxin County's Detention Center On around September 6, 2002, Panzhihua City's Police Department personnel started a large-scale raid against Dafa practitioners, arresting more than 30 practitioners and illegally detaining them at Panzhihua City's Wanyaoshu Detention Center. Some of the practitioners are detained at Yanbianxin County's Detention Center in Panzhihua City, where the guards utilized all kinds of instruments to brutally torture practitioners, especially male practitioners. This has been going on for over a month. Dafa practitioners are protesting together with hunger strikes and firmly denying the old force's arrangement with their righteous belief in Dafa and Teacher.

[Dengfeng City, Henan Province] Policemen Set up a "Special Cases" Group to Rob and Search People's HomesRecently, lawless officials in Dengfeng City, Henan Province dispatched scores of policemen to start a "special cases" group. They broke into Dafa practitioners' homes, violating people's privacy, prying open doors, turning practitioner's houses upside down, confiscating Dafa books and materials, and arrested and detained many Dafa practitioners.
