Japan: "The Committee of Global Action in Rescuing Family Members" Report on Falun Gong Practitioners Persecuted in China

(Clearwisdom.net) According to incomplete calculation, there are 22 Japanese Falun Gong practitioners or their families under persecution in China. Among them, ten are currently imprisoned and subjected to torture. We call on all kind-hearted people to restrain the evil and spread the word. Please help to get an early release of these innocent people.

1. *Yoko Kaneko, Falun Gong Practitioner Residing in Japan (Niigata resident, Her Chinese name is Luo Rong)

   38-year-old Yoko is the wife of Atsushi Kaneko (Japanese Citizen, male, 46 years old, clerk). Yoko started to practice Falun Dafa in 1998. On May 24^th, 2002 she was illegally arrested by the police from Beijing's Haidian District while distributing Falun Dafa materials. One month later she was illegally sentenced to one and half years forced labor. She is currently held at the Daxing District Women's Forced Labor Camp where she has been constantly subjected to extreme torture. In such an environment, her health and state of mind has dramatically worsened and she could lose her life at any moment.

2. *Hu Guoping, a Japan-based Falun Dafa Practitioner (used to be a researcher at Kitasato University in Japan)

   He is a Chinese national, 31 years of age. He came to Japan in 1996 and was a visiting researcher at the School of Pharmaceutical Science of Kitasato University. Before he went to Japan he was a teaching assistant at Organic Chemistry Teaching and Research Section of Shenyang Medical University. He began to practice Falun Dafa in 1996. In December 1999, he went to Beijing to appeal and was forcefully taken away by the police when he was taking photographs of police beating up Falun Dafa practitioners at Tiananmen Square. In October 2000, he was sentenced to three years imprisonment by the Beijing Western District Court. Currently, it is not known whether he is still alive or not.

3. *Yang Wen, A Japan-based Falun Dafa Practitioner (was an overseas student at Tokyo University)

Yang Wen is a 33-year-old Chinese national. He graduated from Qinghua University and worked at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He came to Japan in 1993 and enrolled in Tokyo University to study for a Master's Degree in Information Science after passing the examination. Yang Wen started to practice Falun Dafa in 1998. In July 2000, he went back to China and his passport was suspended. After a month of illegal detention he was released on bail awaiting trial. In July 2001 he was arrested for sharing experiences with other Falun Dafa practitioners. He was sentenced to four years imprisonment after being illegally detained for over a year. He is now being held at Yuexiu Prison, Chatou, Shijing Town of Guangzhou City, but his present condition is unknown.

4. *Xie Yunhuan, a Japan-based Falun Dafa Practitioner (was an overseas student at the Shizuoka Japanese Education Center)

   He is a Chinese national, 27 years of age. He was the fourth brother of Kurebayashi Mitsuhiro (male, 33 years old, Shizuoka resident and a Falun Dafa practitioner). Xie began to practice Falun Dafa in 1996, came to Japan to study in April 1999 and went back to Beijing to appeal in February 2000. He was secretly kidnapped by the Beijing Public Security Bureau in March 2001 and was illegally held until August 2002. At the end of August 2002, he was illegally sentenced to ten years imprisonment by the Jiguan District Court, Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province. The sentence was delivered in the absence of any witnesses, evidence, or appointed lawyer. The only so called evidence was the fabricated accusation of "printing 1600 copies of Falun Dafa flyers and cut 90 pages of stencil paper." Currently he is held at the No. 1 Prison of Jixi City and his condition is unknown. During the span of the more than one year he was illegally detained, no legal procedures were ever followed. Even his family members were not allowed to visit him. Under the harsh treatment of the prison, he had become emaciated. When he was taken to the Jixi No.1 Prison, the evil head of the prison guards tortured him for 42 days. And in these 42 days, he was not allowed to sleep, nor given nourishing food. The only thing he was given was a bowl of clear broth in the morning and another one in the afternoon. He was also deprived of sleep and shocked with electric batons if he attempted to close his eyes.

5. Zhan Qingmin, the Mother of Japanese Falun Dafa Practitioner Kurebayashi Mitsuhiro (male, 33 years of age, Japanese citizen and a resident of Shizuoka)

Zhan Qingmin, 60 years old, is a Chinese national and a retired teacher. She began to practice Falun Dafa in 1996. She was forcefully detained five to six times at the end of 2001 when she went to Beijing to appeal. She was illegally sentenced to two years of forced labor in a trial by default. Now she is travelling about homeless in order to avoid the persecution and there is no news concerning her whereabouts.

6. Xie Mingjuan, the Elder Sister of Kurebayashi Mitsuhiro (male, 33 Japanese, citizen and Shizuoka resident)

Xie Mingjuan, female, 35 years old, a Chinese national, was a clerk and began to practice Falun Dafa in 1996. She went to Beijing to appeal at the end of 2000 and was forcefully detained four times at the Jidong County detention center. In the beginning of 2001 she went to Beijing to appeal once again and was illegally sentenced to two years of forced labor. Currently she is undergoing the sentence, outside of the labor camp, and only receives 200 Chinese Yuan living allowance per month (500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China).

7. Zhao Yumei, the Sister-in-law of Kurebayashi Mitsuhiro (male, 33 years old, Japanese citizen and Shizuoka resident)

Zhao Yumei, female, 38 years old, is a Chinese national and a housewife. She started to practice Falun Dafa in 1996. She was forcefully detained for four months at the Jidong detention center and fined 6,000 Chinese Yuan for going to Beijing to appeal at the end of 2000. At the end of August 2002, her home was searched and she was held at the Jixi No.1 Detention Center. In the detention center she witnessed the police acting indecently toward female Falun Dafa practitioners in order to force them to give up their beliefs. She saw the police using electric batons to shock the private parts and breasts of the female practitioners. As a result, some practitioners' nipples had been burnt. Zhao Yumei herself had also suffered from endless humiliation. A week later, she was freed after paying a fine of 1,700 Chinese Yuan.

8. Xie Yunjie, the Third Younger Brother of Kurebayashi Mitsuhiro (male, 33 years old, Japanese citizen and Shizuoka resident)

Xie Yunjie, male, 31 years old, is a Chinese national and a researcher. He began to practice Falun Dafa in 1996. In January 2001 he went to Beijing to appeal and was illegally detained at the Bingxian County Public Security Bureau, Heilongjiang Province for 39 days. Because Xie Yujie is an integral part of his employer's technical department, they bailed him out. Now, he is under surveillance.

9. *Wang Tongchun, the Elder Brother of Japanese Falun Dafa Practitioner Tanaka Hiroko (female, 45 years old, Japanese citizen and Tokyo resident)

Wang Tongchun, male, 52 years old, a Chinese national and a driver. He began to practice Falun Dafa in 1996. On March 20, 2002, two police cars and policemen from the Fuyu City Oil Field Public Security Bureau, two fire engines, and about 200 people surrounded Wang Tongchun's home. More than 20 policemen broke the windows and forced their way in. They forcefully arrested Wang and sentenced him to one and a half years of forced labor. Wang Tongchun is currently being held at Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp, Jiutai, Fuyu City, Jilin Province. In protest against the illegal detention Wang Tongchun went on a hunger strike. However, he was force fed salt water and suffered under many different types of barbaric torture methods. Because his family is not allowed to visit him, his current condition is unknown.

10. *Wu Xiaohua, the Elder Sister of Japan-based Falun Dafa Practitioner Wu Lili (female, 39 years old, a Chinese national and a resident of Tokyo)

Wu Xiaohua, female, 48 years old, is a Chinese national and an associate professor of the Anhui Architecture Institute. She began to practice Falun Dafa in 1994. Since December 1999 she had been illegally detained several times for going to appeal and persisting in practicing Falun Gong. She was sentenced to two years of forced labor and twice sent to mental hospitals. From October 2001 until now, she has been held at the People's Hospital (mental hospital), Hefei City. She was forced to take injections and drugs and was electrically shocked. After the injections and drugs, she now remains in a lethargic sleep and her main consciousness has become numb. She feels uneasy no matter how she sits, stands or sleeps. She has a constant headache, vomits, and suffers from menstrual irregularity. She also suffers from a lack of memory, and her eyesight is intermittently out of focus, rendering her unable to see people or things clearly at close range. Her hearing has also been terribly damaged. Due to her weakened condition, she sometimes will pass out three to four times in a single day. Her life is in danger!

11. *Aunt of Japan-based Falun Dafa Practitioner Gao Xia (female, 41 years old, Chinese national and a resident of Saitama)

Gao Xia's aunt is 64 years old, a Chinese national and a senior engineer. Her aunt began to practice Falun Dafa in 1995. In October 2001 she was arrested and illegally sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor for handing out Falun Dafa truth-clarifying material. Now she is held at Daxing District Women's Forced Labor Camp in Daxing County, Beijing Municipality. She has suffered from illegal psychological persecution, such as brain washing and forced to slander Falun Dafa. However, she still firmly believes in Falun Dafa with all her heart.

12. *Fan Rui, the Wife of Japan-based Falun Gong Practitioner Yan Shidong (male, 32-years-old, Chinese, resides at Chiba)

Fan Rui, female, 31 years old, Chinese, doctor, started to practice Falun Gong in 1996. She went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong at the end of 1999 and in May 2000, she was illegally detained in Yaojia Detention Center and Dalian Drug Rehabilitation Center respectfully. She was released on bail by the guarantee of her workplace, and fined more than 5,000 Yuan! On September 4^th, 2001, she was illegally arrested at her workplace by the policemen in Dalian City, and illegally sentenced to 2 years in a forced labor camp. Currently, she is being forcibly detained in a forced labor camp in Dalian City. Because she refused to denounce her belief in Falun Gong, she has been mentally and physically tormented.

13. *Liang liang, the Younger Sister of Japan-based Falun Gong Practitioner Liang Ling (female, 40 years old, Chinese, resides at Tokyo)

Liang liang, female, 34 years old, Chinese, primary school teacher, started to practice Falun Gong in 1996. In November 1999, she was arrested for appealing for Falun Gong in Beijing, and illegally sentenced to 2 years in a forced labor camp. She has been detained under forced labor in Arongqi and Wulanhaote, Mongolia respectfully, and persecuted by cruel physical punishments. She has been brutally tortured. The police even inserted the electric baton into her vagina and tortured her. It resulted in massive hemorrhaging for more than one month. She had difficulties in eating and walking, and could only move slowly by holding the wall, lest she fall down. Her situation is very serious and her life is in danger.

14. Liang Baisheng, the Elder Brother of Japan-based Falun Gong Practitioner Liang Ling (female, 40 years old, Chinese, resides in Tokyo)

Liang Baisheng, male, 42 years old, Chinese, unemployed, started to practice Falun Gong in 1993. On September 20^th, 1999, he was arrested when he was delivering Dafa materials to remote places in Mongolia, and illegally detained in Daguang Detention Center in Changchun City. He has been tortured daily, and twice nearly tortured to death. He was then transferred to a forced labor camp in Chaoyang District, Changchun City, and sentenced to 2 years in a forced labor camp. Some of the tortures he has suffered in the forced labor camp are: 1) Forced to strip off his clothes, and stand for a long time while being drenched with ice cold water. 2) Stripped naked and forced to sit outside for an entire day. After he was tormented for one and a half years, he was transferred to a jail for further persecution. One time, he was so brutally beaten by policemen that he remained unconscious. His detention period was extended after his release date, and he was re-captured after he was released. Now he is destitute and homeless in order to avoid being illegally arrested at home, so there is no news from him at all.

15. *Xie Yuqing, the Mother of Japan-based Falun Gong Practitioner Wang Fang (female, 32 years old, Chinese, resides in Tokyo).

Xie Yuqing, female, 60 years old, Chinese, Assistant Director, 1^st level police supervisor. Xie started to practice Falun Gong in 1996. She was illegally sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp. She is now forcibly detained in Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City. Her current situation is not known.

16. Wang Jun, Elder Brother of Japan-based Falun Gong Practitioner Wang Fang (female, 32 years old, Chinese, resides at Tokyo)

Wang Jun, male, 34 years old, Chinese, started to practice Falun Gong in 1996, he is now destitute and homeless in order to avoid being illegally arrested at home.

17. Wang Hongshun, the Father of Japan-based Falun Gong Practitioner Wang Fang (female, 32 years old, Chinese, resides at Tokyo)

Wang Hongshun, is male, 64 years old, vice section chief, 1^st level police supervisor. He has been illegally arrested and tortured and currently is under surveillance.

18. Zhou Meihua, the Younger Sister of Japan-based Falun Gong Practitioner Zhou Jinhua (female, 29 years old, Chinese, resides in Saitama)

Zhou Meihua, female, 27 years old, Chinese, housewife, started to practice Falun Gong in 1996. She was illegally detained for a total period of one and a half years because she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in October 2000. She has been detained in the Judicial Bureau Drug Rehabilitation Center and Nanguanling Jail in Dalian City. During the detention, thugs shocked her entire body with electric batons and hit her head with a wooden backless stool until it was broken. She was then locked up in a very small cell so that she could neither stand nor sit down. Everyday, she was forced to watch TV programs that slandered Falun Gong and was forced to do hard labor overtime. She conducted a 3-month long hunger strike to protest her illegal detention, and her weight dropped from more than 40 kg (about 95 lbs.) to less than 30 kg (about 65 lbs.). She was reduced to such a poor condition that her blood pressure could not even be detected. The forced labor camp sent her to the Central hospital in Dalian City, and requested her family members to pay for the medical expenses. Now she is destitute and homeless in order to avoid being illegally arrested at home.

19. Yu Zuojia, the Younger Brother-in-law of Japan-based Falun Gong Practitioner Zhou Jinhua (female, 29 years old, Chinese, resides in Saitama)

Yu Zuojia, male, 32 years old, Chinese, company vice manager, started to practice Falun Gong in 1996. In October 2000, he was illegally arrested and detained for one and a half years at Dalian Drug Rehabilitation Center for appealing in Beijing. He was fined more than 4,000 Yuan (the average income of an average urban worker is about 500 Yuan per month). He was released in May 2001. He is now destitute and homeless in order to avoid being illegally arrested at home.

20. Zhou Changxu, the Younger Brother of Japan-based Falun Gong Practitioner Zhou Jinhua (female, 29 years old, Chinese, resides in Saitama)

Zhou Changxu, male, 25 years old, Chinese, driver, started to practice Falun Gong in 1996. Since October 2000, he has been to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong several times, and has been illegally detained for a total period of 4 months. Police used double fists to pound his ribs, which caused him internal injuries. He was beaten with iron clubs, while his hands and feet were cuffed together, and could not sit or stand properly. Since he was arrested, he did not eat or drink anything. He had blood in his stool and also had extremely low blood pressure. Due to his condition, he was then released. He has been forcibly detained in the Dalian Administrative Detention Center. He is now destitute and homeless in order to avoid being illegally arrested at home.

21. Gao Deyong, the Ex-husband of Japan-based Falun Gong Practitioner Zhou Yingjie (female, 50 years old, Chinese, resides at Saitama)

Gao Deyong, male, 53 years old, Chinese, branch level cadre, started to practice Falun Gong in 1995. He was illegally detained in a forced labor camp, the first time for 1 year, and the next for 3 years, and was also forcibly detained in Fuyu Forced Labor Camp in Qiqihaer City. The Policemen cuffed his hands, hung him from the wall, and tortured him by shocking his temples with electric batons, and beat and scolded him. He was also forced to stand for 17 to 18 hours. However, all of those torments could not waive his faith in Falun Gong. Eventually, he was tormented into unconsciousness and remained in a hospital. He has since been released on bail for medical treatment.

22. Gao Shanshan, the Daughter of Japan-based Falun Gong Practitioner Zhou Yingjie (female, 50 years old, Chinese, resides in Saitama)

Gao Shanshan, female, 21 years old, Chinese, started to practice Falun Gong in 1995. She was removed from her university and forbidden to take the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) after she had graduated from high school, simply because she practices Falun Gong. In September 1999, when she was only 17 years old, she was detained in No. 1 Jail in Qiqihaer City for appealing in Beijing. Then she was illegally sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp and detained in Shuanghe Forced Labor Camp in Qiqihaer City. An agricultural chemicals factory in this forced labor camp specializes in packing agricultural chemicals for a proprietary limited company. Falun Gong practitioners who work in this factory suffer a lot. Because the agricultural medicinal powder in this pharmaceutical factory is high in toxins, it greatly damages the human body. It has caused many people flowing nosebleeds, coughing with phlegm (there is blood in the phlegm), and unbalanced menstruation. She took the lead in appealing for an end to the persecutions whereupon hoodlums immediately locked her up in a small cell, and illegally extended her detention period for 2 months. Thus, a young girl, only 20 years old, was subjected to the cruelest mental and physical torture. She is now destitute and homeless in order to avoid being illegally arrested at home.
