In October 1999, a detention center in the north of China was filled with imprisoned Dafa disciples. They all enlightened to the fact that they could not passively endure this imprisonment, and that a hunger strike had to be done collectively to attain their freedom. In a detention center, a Dafa disciple benevolently changed the attitude of the guards and the inmates in his cell with his righteous thoughts and actions. He established an open environment to study the Fa and do the exercises. Sometimes while practicing the sitting meditation the Dafa disciple would levitate one meter high into the air. His inmates were astonished, and they respected Dafa and Dafa disciples even more after that. One by one they also joined the assembly of prisoners practicing Dafa.
