Jilin City Prison Brutally Tortures Falun Dafa Practitioners, Including Those Who Have Broadcast Programs About the Facts of Falun Dafa on Cable TV

(Clearwisdom.net) Many male Falun Dafa practitioners from Changchun who had been illegally sentenced are now jailed in Jilin City Prison. Among them are Dafa practitioners who broadcast programs about the facts of Falun Dafa on cable TV. These practitioners are suffering inhuman treatment beyond the imagination. We call on the people who have learned the facts of Falun Dafa to show concern for their safety. We also call on human rights groups to pay close attention to this situation, where policemen are torturing and killing kind-hearted people.

Some close to the situation have disclosed that the Jilin City Prison brainwashed these Dafa practitioners continuously for two months. During this period, the practitioners were not allowed to sleep and were pressured to write the so-called "four statements" [promising not to practice Falun Gong, stating regret over practicing in the past, declaring separation from Falun Gong, and denouncing Falun Gong]. The most vicious method in persecuting Dafa practitioners came as the prison guards and officials instructed some criminal inmates to beat the Dafa practitioners. These inmates could have their sentences reduced if they coerced the practitioners, through any vicious means, into writing the statements. They could get three to five points for every statement and three points made them eligible for a sentence reduction.

Police guards asked inmates Xu Zhigang and Gao Guoxing of the No. Four Team to torture Lei Ming. They kicked his head and private parts. Then, the prison guards fixed him onto a special bed, in which they tied his head and limbs down tightly. While in this excruciating position, they tried to have him write the "four statements."

Practitioner Wang Guangyou of the No. Fifth Team was often beaten. Dafa practitioners from the No. Six Team in Yanji also received brutal beatings. Xin Yuanjun's teeth were knocked out and another practitioner was sent to the hospital for emergency treatment as a result of the beating he received.

Now, many practitioners in the prison declared the statements they were forced to write during the brainwashing sessions to be null and void. Yan Feng was placed under strict supervision by inmates and guards. Baishan Dafa practitioner Liu Zhaojian went on a hunger strike for 83 days and refused to write any of the "four statements." Other practitioners who refuse to give in to the evil include Zhang Jianwei, Yun Qingbin, Zheng Weidong and Wei Xiushan.

Dafa practitioners in the city prison have no freedoms whatsoever. They are not allowed to talk to each other and are under 24 hour surveillance. Likewise, the prison guards tie the practitioners to the beds by their head and limbs at will. Dafa practitioners must get up at 5:30 in the morning and remain sitting in the same position until 7:30 in the evening. They are watched even when they go to the toilet. The prison guards will keep a surveillance log on a half-hour basis and report to their superior once every week. Other maltreatments include confinement in a solitary compartment, denial of correspondence, and banning visits from family and friends. Practitioners held in No. 7 Team are also denied sleep.

Prison staff who have been persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners include the following:

Prison Political Commissar Liu Changjiang

Prison Political Section: Director Liu Xianting and Secretary Geng

Prison Education Section: Director Tan and Secretary Li
