A Hotel Owner's Experience in A Detention Center Helps Her to Understand the Truth

(Clearwisdom.net) I know the owner of a hotel near my home. I had clarified the truth about Falun Gong to her before, but she did not believe me. She placed a great deal of emphasis on money, and was scared that she could be affected by Falun Gong. She did not even want to listen to my explanation of the facts. I decided that I would try to explain the facts regarding the persecution of Dafa to her from her perspective, whenever it became possible.

Not long ago, during the Party's 16^th Congress, the police were looking to arrest Falun Gong practitioners day and night, but were unable to find any. They then wanted to make unannounced searches of local hotels, so that they could use this opportunity to extort some money [Some hotels in China host prostitution to make money and police know this quite well]. Within one night, all local hotels and motels were thoroughly searched, including the hotel near my place.

That day, the owner of the hotel was arrested by police. After paying their fines, most hotel owners could leave, but they did not release the hotel owner I knew. She was placed in a detention center for 15 days.

There were many Falun Dafa practitioners at the detention center and due to their pure hearts, many inmates had been moved by their kindness and tranquillity under difficult circumstances. After listening to a practitioner clarifying the truth, a prostitute began to believe in Dafa. She had suffered from severe diabetes, but after believing in Dafa, her diabetes started to get better. Witnessing these miraculous occurrences, the hotel owner could not help but to start believing in Dafa. She had had chronic back pains, and while she was detained, the pains started again. She had to stand with her back to a heater to relieve the pain. At one point when she was standing there, she closed her eyes and silently said to herself, "I believe in Falun Dafa. If supernatural beings truly exist, I wish they could help me with my back pain." Then, she saw a Buddha-like figure appear in a ray of light and rub dust on her back. When she opened her eyes, the figure was nowhere to be seen, but suddenly she realised that her back did not hurt anymore! She was extremely moved and told everyone, "Now I truly believe in Dafa. It is so miraculous. Everything is true." It was in this way that all of the non-practitioners at the detention centre were moved by the power of Dafa and started to believe in Dafa from the bottom of their hearts. Then, these people's illnesses were also reduced to a certain degree.

Once released, this hotel owner immediately told me what happened. She repeatedly said, "Before, I always thought that the things you told me could not be true. Now, I truly believe them. It is miraculous. If I told anyone else they might not believe me, but it is the absolute truth!" She also said, "Before I was released, Falun Dafa practitioners told me that I must protect practitioners if they encounter any evil persecution. I said that I would definitely protect practitioners." After hearing her talk, I was very glad. I said to her, "Don't miss out on this rare chance, start cultivating Dafa!" She said with a difficult expression on her face, "I still cannot let go of my thoughts about money. However, even if I don't cultivate, I truly believe that Dafa is good. I will tell my husband to practice." I asked her, "So this time you were fined 5000 Yuan?" [Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 Yuan] She replied, "More than 5000!" After some hesitation, she said, "Even though I was fined a lot of money, I feel it is worth it, because I have gained a lot."
