How the Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Institute in Heilongjiang Province Persecutes Falun Dafa Practitioners

(Clearwisdom.net) I am a determined cultivator of Falun Dafa. On April 23, 2001, the head of the Political Security Section, Sun Chengyi, led a group of people to arrest me and I was detained for nearly one month. One day, when they interrogated me, Sun Chengyi asked Pang Wei to beat me. They interrogated me from morning until late into the middle of the night. On the second day, I was sent to the detention center. Shortly afterwards, I was sentenced to one year in a forced-labor camp. The person who was in charge of the labor camp said, "You can go ahead and appeal, but it won't help you at all no matter where you appeal."

Dafa practitioners who firmly practice Dafa and refuse to renounce their belief receive even more brutal persecution in Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Institute.

(1) As soon as you are sent there, police try to force you to renounce your belief. Police beat practitioners and forcibly press practitioners' hands to write a statement vowing to break away from Dafa. They also force practitioners to watch video programs defaming Dafa. Wei Jun from Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province, refused to watch the propaganda being shown. A group of guards pulled him out, and male guards beat and kicked him, pulled his hair, and slammed his head against a wall. Then they locked him up in an iron cage, tied him to an iron chair, and forced him to watch programs that defamed Falun Dafa.

(2) Police make use of pairs of criminals to monitor Dafa practitioners. These criminals then use the power given by the guards to do whatever they want. When criminals beat practitioners, guards don't stop them but instead speak in favor of them and allow them to earn points to reduce their sentences.

(3) Dafa practitioners are not allowed to use the restroom and they have to use a container in their own cells. Sometimes even when the container in the cell is full, practitioners are not allowed to clean them. The smell in the room becomes terrible. This is also another means of persecution police use to force practitioners to give in.

(4) Practitioners are closely monitored and not allowed to eat in the dining hall. I was kidnapped and forcibly taken to this Drug Rehabilitation Institution on July 17, 2001. At that time, a pile of eggplants only cost a few cents, but when we went to eat, we could only get a spoonful of food and sometimes even a spoonful of food shared between two practitioners.

(5) Guards make use of criminals to beat practitioners.

In the September of 2001, I clarified the facts of the persecution of Falun Dafa to a collaborator (former practitioner who has gone astray under high pressure). Guard Du tried very hard to push me out the door. Later a group of guards came and pulled me downstairs. They dragged me into an office and handcuffed me behind my back. I refused to cooperate with them so the guards started to beat me and tightly sealed my mouth with adhesive tape. Later they called in some criminals and drug-addicts to beat and kick me. After they beat me, they put me on an iron chair with my hands handcuffed behind my back. I was handcuffed and detained this way for an entire day.

(6) Police secretly injected psychotropic (mind-altering) drugs into a practitioner's body and also forced this practitioner to not tell anyone about it. They didn't stop using such bad means until they realized that the drugs didn't have any effect on this practitioner.

There are numerous cases of persecution like this C too many to list one by one. If I hadn't experienced the persecution first hand, I would never have imagined how rampant the evil has become.
