A Brief Warning: Do Not Get Held Back in the 'Regretful' Stage

During the course of a practitioner's cultivation, one will inevitably feel regretful when failing a test or not passing it well. It is certainly a good start to feel regret, but it is not a permanent solution because if one never advances beyond the feeling of regret, it may form a pessimistic mentality, make one less diligent in cultivation, and even destroy one's will. Instead, it is better to search deeply, in order to find the underlying reason for being regretful. After all, wrongdoings are only the surface exhibition of an attachment. What really matters is the attachment itself. One can only identify the attachment and then remove it by studying the Fa more. It also helps us to understand the principles of the Fa and to better save sentient beings. That is our ultimate goal. So do not remain at the regretful stage.
