World Journal: Falun Gong Practitioners From 18 Provinces Celebrated Falun Dafa Day

World Journal reporter Zeng Huiyan reporting from New York, February 6, 2002: Falun Dafa Information Center, headquartered in New York, pointed out that February 4 is the Beginning of Spring on the Chinese lunar calendar. Falun Gong practitioners from 18 provinces had celebrated Falun Dafa Day, which symbolized "The revitalization of all things on earth, the renewal and rejuvenation of all environments, and the evil forces are facing final and complete eradication."

Based on information from Falun Gong web site- "Minghui," the Falun Dafa Information Center showed that practitioners from more than half of all the provinces in China (18 provinces) had responded with the establishment of Falun Dafa Day of their very own. This occurred within just one month after the establishment of the first Falun Dafa Day in Changchun city, the birthplace of Falun Gong in China, on December 22, 2001, the day of Winter Solstice on Chinese lunar calendar. These provinces included Shandong, Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning. These four provinces were notorious for the highest death rate of Falun Gong practitioners under persecutions.

As indicated in their proclamations, Changchun Falun Gong practitioners stated that the establishment of Falun Dafa Day would inspire all those who still look forward to Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance under the most severe pressure. Selecting the Day of Winter Solstice signified the end of the dark evil destiny; and the glorious illumination of the sentient world will begin.
