Radio Free Asia: Qinghua Alumni in America Write to Bush Requesting Him To Raise Falun Gong in His Speech

RFA news on February 21, 2002 from Hong Kong: According to a report from the Hong Kong-based Information Center for Human Rights and Democracy on Thursday, 17 Qinghua alumni in America wrote to President Bush, requesting him to tell the audience in Qinghua University on Friday that the United States is against the Chinese government's human rights violations toward Falun Gong practitioners.

The center also reported that Zhang Mengye, an Associate Professor in Guangdong Electrical Power College and former classmate of Vice President Hu Jintao at Qinghua University, was released recently after two years of forced labor re-education as punishment for cultivating Falun Gong.
