Radio Free Asia News: United States Will Return To The UN Human Rights Commission Next Year
(Clearwisdom.net) Radio Free Asia News from the United Nations:
The United States will return to the United Nation's Human Right Commission next
year. Spain and Italy have voluntarily given up their rights to compete with the
United States, guaranteeing that the United States will be elected.
According to Reuters, European diplomats here say that from intensive talks
with the United States, Spain and Italy recognized the importance of a United
States presence at the UN Human Rights Commission and have voluntarily withdrawn
from competing for the seat. As a result, the return of the United States to the
Human Rights Commission is a certainty when it meets in April to elect the next
Commission.
