News Report on Human Rights Commission in Geneva

The city of Geneva in Switzerland is the home of the United Nations, international mediator for worldwide human rights. The annual "United Nations Human Rights Commission" at the Palais des Nations is the most important event of the year in the human rights calendar. Worldwide government officials began their 2002 human rights commission on Wednesday 19th March.

From 20th-22nd, The Falun Gong practitioners gathered in Geneva hoping to bring this inhumane persecution into the spotlight at the Commission. The persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China has extended its vicious influence to millions of innocent people and has recently spiraled out of control with Jiang Zemin's orders to "kill them without mercy". A three-day peaceful protest outside of the Palais des Nations was conducted. This event involved a parade and a 32-hour hunger strike. More than 800 practitioners from over 40 countries took part in this event.

On Saturday 23rd, The 2002 European Falun Dafa Experience Sharing Conference was successfully held in Geneva. Experiences were shared with translations into English, French, Swedish, German, and Chinese. Fifteen practitioners shared their experiences of learning the principles of Falun Gong, the majority of them were European.

Two families also took to the stage to tell their stories of practicing Falun Gong and the great benefits that the principles of "Truthfulness Compassion Forbearance" have brought light to their lives and their family relationships.

In the light of the understandings shown, practitioners felt greatly encouraged to further their efforts to reveal to the world the brutal persecution against Falun Gong.
