WHEREAS, Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, is a belief system based on the principle of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, and

WHEREAS, Falun Dafa was first introduced in Asia by Mr. Li Hongzhi in1992 and since then has been adopted by about 100 million practitioners in over fifty countries around the world, and

WHEREAS, Falun Dafa has helped people improve their health, purify their mind and deepen their understanding of life and humanity, and

WHEREAS, Falun Dafa has helped numerous young people and adults turn away from alcohol, drugs and violence to pursuit meaningful lifves and,

WHEREAS, since its introduction to New Jersey in 1996, Falun Dafa has positive changed the lives of numerous residents in New Jersey, and

WHEREAS, various Falun Dafa introduction seminars, demonstration of Falun Dafa exercises and other activities are scheduled for the week of January 28 through February 3, 2002 in the City of Paterson.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL of the City of Paterson that hereby proclaiming the week of January 28 through February 3, 2002 to be "Falun Dafa Week" in the City of Paterson.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The purpose of this resolution is to proclaiming the week of January 28 through February 3, 2002 to be "Falun Dafa Week" in the City of Paterson.
