The Persecution My Family and I Suffered For Upholding Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance

I live in a small district in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. Because I persisted in believing in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," I suffered persecution by the local police station.

At noon on April 2, 2002, four policemen from the police station tricked my father-in-law into opening the door. Without showing any identification or search warrants, they forcefully took away our two guests and detained them. We still have not learned where they are being held, and their families have not been notified. The police also forcibly took away our books, pictures and some personal possessions from our house without giving us a reason or receipt. During this whole process, we requested that they show their legal credentials and documentation, but we never got any response.

We keep cultivating Falun Gong, and we firmly believe in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." We want to have healthy bodies and be good people in a noble realm. What guilt do we have? Can't Falun Gong practitioners have friends and relatives come to visit?

When my wife was eight months pregnant, she was detained at the local police station and intensely brainwashed in the severe winter, just because she did not want to give up her belief of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." When our daughter had just turned one, my wife was sent to a labor camp, and she has not been allowed to return home yet.

My mother-in-law used to suffer from many severe health problems and was very weak. Because of practicing Falun Gong, she became strong and healthy. Thus, she also is not willing to let go of her belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." Because of her beliefs, her work unit plans to lower her pension again.

I am a college graduate. In college I was a good student. After I started to work, I was recognized as an "Outstanding Party Member." Eventually, I published about a dozen scientific articles. Because I refused to let go of my belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" and went to legally appeal to the government, I was detained once and sent to a forced labor camp twice. Because I trust in the government, take responsibility for our country, and am unwilling to see people being poisoned by lies, is it wrong to explain the truth to the Appeals Office? What is the Appeals Office? Policemen who do not follow the law still want to arrest me. I have been forced to become destitute and homeless. I cannot take care of my parents or raise my child.

We remain steadfast in our belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" because it is a universal characteristic and a universal truth. Through cultivation, our minds and bodies have all benefited. Nowadays, Jiang's government shouts out, "Manage the state according to the rule of law and manage the state according to the rule of virtue?" In actuality, they are repressing the common people. Confronted with shameless rulers, Falun Gong practitioners have the courage to stand up and expose the injustice to the world's people. Doesn't this embody the true virtue of common citizens? I ask for the release of my wife and the return of my personal possessions. At the same time, I also defend my right to appeal to the authorities.
