Taiwan Supreme Court Sentences Wu Changxin to Prison for Plagiarizing Falun Dafa Book
(Clearwisdom.net) In 1998, the Chairman of the Board of the Taiwan Scientific Qigong
Association, Wu Changxin, plagiarized The Great Consummation Way of Falun Dafa authored by
Mr. Li Hongzhi, altered the five sets of Falun Gong exercises and published a book called
"Scientific Falun Gong," trying to confuse the public and mislead people interested in
Falun Dafa. To clarify the facts, Taiwan's Yiqun Bookstore filed a criminal case against Wu Changxin
for plagiarism in the Taipei District Court. The bookstore is the only place in Taiwan having Li
Hongzhi's authorization to publish Falun Dafa books. In February 2001, more than one year after
filing the case, the court found Wu Changxin guilty and sentenced him to a prison sentence. Wu filed
an appeal. On April 8, 2002, Taiwan's Supreme Court found Wu Changxin guilty, sentenced him to six
months in prison and fined him one million Yuan (Taiwanese currency). In Taiwan, all Falun Gong activities are in full accordance with the law. The laws protect the
publication and distribution of Falun Dafa books. This case is a good example. The rational and open
environment of Taiwan guarantees Falun Gong practitioners' rights to freedom of belief, the right to
publish Falun Dafa materials and the right to due process of law. It provides a clear contrast to
the Jiang regime's persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, its breaking of the Chinese constitution
and its destruction and ban of Falun Gong books. The difference between right and wrong is obvious
to anyone.
