Persecution Against Dafa Practitioners in Boye County, Hebei Province

(Clearwisdom.net) In April 2001, Boye County organized a so-called law school, which was actually a brainwashing class. The 610 Office (an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political or judicial systems), the county government, and the police department illegally arrested over forty Dafa practitioners and forced them into the class. They used all kinds of vicious methods including beating, house searching, wiretaps and fines in order to force practitioners to give up their beliefs. Seven months later, practitioners Qiaoying, Cuiying, Zhang Qinxian and He Qingliu walked out of the brainwashing classes with righteous thoughts. After that, they were forced to become homeless in order to avoid further persecution. Thus their families have been harassed and threatened many times and have gone through a great ordeal. Other practitioners were released only after they paid large fines of over 2,500 yuan (The average monthly wage in China is about 500 yuan).

In June 2001, Xiaoning, together with another 69-year-old lady from Beizhu Village and five other practitioners, went to Beijing to appeal. On the way home, they were arrested by Beijing police and escorted to the Boye police department. Xiaoning walked out of the police station with righteous thoughts on the first night and since then has been forced to become homeless to avoid further persecution. Nonetheless, her family has received a lot of harassment, threats, and mental abuse. The police illegally forced other practitioners to parade through the streets in the villages of Boye County. They also sealed the practitioners' mouths shut with tape to keep them from speaking out. When the husband of the 69-year-old lady heard the news that his wife was going to be paraded through the streets to be publicly humiliated, he couldn't take it and died on the spot. Her family requested that they let the old lady see her dead husband, but the police rejected their request. Those practitioners were later released after being fined large amounts of money.

Around New Year's Day of 2002, Luo Zhanzhou from Chengwei Village was illegally taken to the police station at midnight. Two days later he escaped with righteous thoughts and has now become homeless to avoid further persecution.

On January 9, 2002 of the lunar calendar, He Qingliu and Zhang Qinxian who had become homeless were arrested on their way to Beijing. On the same day, the police kidnapped He Qingliu's daughter Gong Lijuan and brought her to the brainwashing classes. The next day, Gong Lijuan escaped with righteous thoughts in the afternoon and is now going from place to place to avoid further persecution. On January 26, 2002 of the lunar calendar, practitioner Yang Baosi was taken to the brainwashing classes from another person's home. He escaped with righteous thoughts three days later and is now going from place to place to avoid further persecution.

Since July 20, 1999, Boye County has arrested hundreds of Dafa practitioners and fined them a great deal of money. Seven practitioners were sent to labor camps. Fifteen practitioners were forced to leave home to avoid further persecution. The current County Governor Kang Fusheng ordered the police department to arrest Dafa practitioners regardless of the legal evidence or procedures. Under such great pressure, practitioners in Boye County still established Falun Dafa Day on February 2, 2002 of the lunar calendar, hung banners and spread and posted over 6,000 flyers. That day was the county fair day at the county seat.
