Clearly Understanding the Relationship Between Dafa Disciples and the Old Forces

From Teacher's lectures, "Guiding the Voyage" and "Touring North America to Teach the Fa," I have understood that one important issue is the relationship between the old forces and Dafa disciples. I also understood that the last step of Fa-rectification is to change the warped nature of sentient beings.

We know from our individual cultivation that in order to eradicate our attachments, we need to first recognize our attachments through Fa-study. Only when we see through our attachments clearly and separate ourselves from them completely can we finally eliminate them. However, at present, some practitioners do not even know what the old forces are, where they are located, and how they manifest themselves. How can these practitioners completely oppose the old forces' arrangements? Moreover, there are some practitioners who aren't diligent and do not want to know what the old forces are. They always think that they have nothing to do with the old forces and that they do not wish to offer their support during the Fa-rectification. They also neglect studying the Fa. All these kinds of thoughts are the typical reactions as dictated by the old forces and they greatly suppress Dafa disciple's divine powers to rectify the Fa.

Before July 20, 1999, the majority of practitioners were able to study the Fa diligently and solidly. After July 20, 1999, however, some practitioners could not calm down to study the Fa. Why? On the surface, the cultivation environment changed. However, I think it is because in the beginning, the old forces also accepted Dafa. They all supported Dafa because at that time and their original life essence had not yet been touched. But with the rapid progressing of Fa-rectification, the force of Fa-rectification started to reach them. For selfish reasons, they did not like to change themselves and did not believe in the currently existing reality. Actually, Teacher also taught the Fa to them, asking them to awaken and to not do what they did. However, they refused. They desperately pressured the human side of Dafa disciples to not study the Fa.

When practitioners study the Fa, the old forces continuously force their deviated notions on practitioners, which I think is one of the reasons why some practitioners have failed to study the Fa diligently and have even enlightened along an evil path. In fact, the divine side of Dafa disciples is very rational and clear-headed. It is just that the old forces are taking advantage of the various attachments that the human side of disciples still has. Therefore, it is very important to study the Fa, and to study as much as possible. Practitioners need to use a calm heart to learn the Fa, and they must overcome interference from being tired, busy, or from not having enough time, etc. The process of studying the Fa is also a process of correcting or eliminating attachments. The more we study the Fa, the more clearly we can see through our attachments, and the more of our human side will assimilate to Dafa. When our human sides are no longer under the control of the old forces, we can then eliminate these stubborn old evil beings by sending forth righteous thoughts.

In the article "The Effect of Righteous Thoughts" Teacher says, "Before the Fa-rectification, the old forces crammed the lowest-level section of each of those tens of millions of remote cosmic systems into the Three Realms of the central cosmic system where we are. Seemingly, this was to prevent them from being left out of the Fa-rectification, and was to show that they took part in Fa-rectification, when in reality they were using Fa-rectification to reach their selfish goals."

In the Fa-rectification, all beings at different levels are created from the old universe and are targets of rectification by the Fa--no being is exempt. We need to correctly place ourselves in the correct relationship with Master and Dafa. How one views Fa-rectification, Master, and Dafa is key in determining the existence and distinguishing factors of one's life. No matter where we come from, and no matter which level we are in at our current cultivation stage, we always need to study Teacher's new scriptures and lectures to maintain the right relationship with Master and Dafa. This is a very solemn matter. If we are not careful, the old evil beings will use our warped notions and everything will be ruined at once.
