A Trial of Strength Between Violence and Belief --- My Twenty-six Days in Prison
Dafa particle: Xiaohua
(Clearwisdom.net) The evening of March 1, 2002, I was arrested while I was distributing Dafa truth clarification
materials. In the local police station, policemen interrogated me several times. I refused to
cooperate and told them that I was only doing good deeds and was clarifying the truth. I firmly
remember Teacher's words, "No matter what the situation, do not cooperate with the evil's
demands, orders, or what it instigates." ("Dafa Disciple's Righteous Thoughts are
Powerful") While I was on a hunger strike, I kept sending forth the righteous thoughts to
eliminate all the evil forces that were persecuting Dafa and me. I refused to tell my name and
rejected any illegal interrogation and picture taking. I used different opportunities to clarify the
truth and promote Dafa to people. The policemen didn't dare beat me. Two days later I was sent to the detention center. Since this was my third time there, they
finally knew who I was. Two other fellow practitioners were detained there as well. We went on a
hunger strike and sent forth righteous thoughts together. We refused to cooperate with the evil
forces. When the guards and the police from the local station called me for interrogation, I refused
to go. Under my strong righteous thoughts, they all left. When the guard beat Dafa practitioners I
sent forth the righteous thoughts in front of him and shouted, "Falun Dafa is good. Falun Dafa
is the righteous Fa. It is a crime to persecute good people. Good will be rewarded and the evil will
receive retribution." On the fifth day of my hunger strike, the detention center forced a tube into my stomach,
handcuffed me from behind, and had prisoners watch me around the clock. My stomach felt very painful
and blood came from the stomach-tube. My throat also hurt, and I could not speak. I endured the pain
and recited Teacher's article Path. I thought, "I shall not passively endure. I will
resist the persecution." Two days later, I broke the stomach-tube with my teeth and pulled it
out. They then unlocked my handcuffs. When the prisoners tried to force-feed me in the cell, I said,
"You will not be able to take the responsibility if something bad happens." As a result,
the prisoners didn't force-feed me during that weekend. The second time they inserted the tube into my stomach, they carried me to the office. This time,
I directly faced the director of the detention center and the guards and exposed the vicious
persecution. Thus, they not only inserted the stomach-tube but also sewed the tube to my nose. The
director said, "If he is not afraid of the pain, he can pull it out. We will just insert it
again." However, the same day, I again broke the tube with my teeth and pulled it out. They inserted the stomach tube for the third time. I broke the tube with my teeth once I stepped
out the cell and pulled it out later. When they inserted the stomach-tube for the fourth time, they
handcuffed me on the bed and tied up my legs. One day later, I again broke the stomach-tube. They
then used the broken tube for the force-feeding. Even though the prisoners were watching me closely,
within a few days, I broke the tube again and pulled it out little by little. After they found out,
they recklessly inserted the broken tube into my nose and finally did it until they could no longer
force-feed me. When they inserted the tube in me, at the beginning, I used a human method and held my breath to
reject the tube. Later on, I thought that I should let my divine side take effect. So I sent forth
righteous thoughts to prevent them from inserting the tube into me. So, several times when they
tried to insert the tube into my stomach it came out from my mouth. After several times of trying to
insert the tube they finally gave up and had the prisoners force-feed me instead. However, I made an
effort to resist and sent forth the righteous thoughts every time. Every force-feeding was a test.
The guard tried several times to open my mouth with tools. But he failed even though he had loosened
my teeth. He said in front of everybody in the cell, "You are really a good disciple of your
Teacher." During the force-feeding, some vicious inmates saw that I did not swallow the food
and spit it out, so they hit me on the face and chest, pinched my cheeks and tweaked my mouth. I
just put down the fear and kept resisting. In the detention center I persisted in sending forth righteous thoughts, often for a long time.
My thoughts included eliminating the evil forces, saving people, and walking out of the detention
center. I also studied the Fa and recited the Fa. Sometimes I did meditation. I didn't cooperate
with their evil requirements such as interrogation, forced labor, wearing prisoners' uniforms, being
on duty, taking photos and reciting the Jail Rules, etc. I also utilized every opportunity to
clarify the truth to the guards and inmates, promoting Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance. After hearing the news that I was going to be released, I was really happy. I knew my release was
not because of my suffering. It was because I was able to look at everything from the perspective of
the Fa. It was my practice of Dafa in the Fa-rectification period and my resistance of the evil
persecution that led to my release. When I was released, they asked me to sign the release document.
As soon as I saw the statement of "the crime is minor", I refused to sign. Through these twenty days of tribulation and testing, I deeply understood and carried out what
Teacher said, "As long as you cultivate and as long as you're able to understand the Fa from
the Fa, there's nothing you can't achieve." ("Fa-Lecture at the Conference in Florida,
U.S.A.") April 15, 2002
