New York City Practitioners Commemorate 4.25 in Front of City Hall (Photos)


On April 25th, about 75 Falun Gong practitioners joined together in front of NYC's City Hall to commemorate the 3rd anniversary of the April 25th peaceful appeal in China. Despite heavy rains, practitioners demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises and sent forth righteous thoughts. A press conference was then held and Falun Gong spokesperson, Erping Zhang, made a statement to the media about the persecution of Falun Gong in China and the significance of April 25th. After the press conference the practitioners all sang "We Shall Overcome", which is a traditional American song that was used during the Civil Rights movement, as well as after the 9.11 tragedy. Many media attended the event and several city officials stopped by to say that they supported our efforts.
