[Northern China] Dafa Disciples in a Rural Area Clarify the Truth of Falun Dafa on a Large Scale; People in the Area Are Gradually Awakening

In a rural area of northern China, Dafa disciples began to distribute Falun Dafa materials and CDs on a large scale before World Falun Dafa Day. Every night, a vehicle would carry about ten Dafa disciples to the countryside, leaving two disciples in a small village and three in a larger village, and then took them to other villages. In this way, Falun Dafa truth-clarifying materials were spread to all the villages and towns in the county. It greatly promoted Falun Dafa and shocked the evils. Due to Dafa disciples' great deeds in the county, people there are gradually awakening. Some are beginning to obtain the Fa.

[Changchun City, Jilin Province] Soldiers in Plainclothes Arrest Falun Dafa Disciples During World Falun Dafa Day

According to latest news from Changchun City, the Public Security Bureau held a meeting on May 8, preparing to arrest as many Falun Dafa disciples as possible. Every soldier in an army located in Changchun area was given plainclothes. They were on patrol duty, trying to illegally capture Dafa disciples who were doing truth-clarifying activities. Recently, it was publicized among the police that those who have relatives practicing Falun Dafa will be awarded 4000 Yuan (equal to eight months' income of an average worker in China) for every person they report.

[Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] The Directors of Ankang Hospital and Police Brutally Force-feed Falun Dafa Disciples

In April 2002, police from the Yaochang Police Substation in the Dadong Area of Shenyang City illegally detained a female Falun Dafa disciple again for fear that she would go to appeal in Beijing. The disciple went on a hunger strike protesting her illegal detention. She was then sent to Ankang Hospital of the Public Security Bureau (it is actually a drug rehabilitation center) to be force-fed. In the hospital, led by Zhang Jianlin (female) and Xie Xiaohui, the directors of the hospital, they inhumanely force-fed the disciple. They inserted a hard plastic pipe, which was nearly the size of her nostril, into her stomach through her nasal passageway. It caused bleeding from her nose and stomach. Even so, Zhang Jianlin continued force-feeding her in a sitting position. The disciple bit the pipe off. Therefore, the president and drug addicts beat her up brutally. Her face was beaten to disfigurement. The police cuffed her ankles, injuring her feet. Eventually, the disciple lost consciousness. Afraid that she would die, Ankang Hospital and the police released the disciple unconditionally. By then she had been on a hunger strike for over two weeks.

Falun Dafa disciples being detained in Ankang Hospital suffered from tortures there to different degrees. It often happens that the police guards and prisoners use torture instruments to brutally beat Dafa disciples.

[Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Falun Dafa Disciple Li Zhongming Illegally Arrested

The Wangjijie Police Substation arrested Falun Dafa disciple Li Zhongming from the Xinzhou Area of Wuhan City when he was shopping on May 8. The police couldn't find any reason for arresting him but took the 20-Yuan note they found in his pocket as proof that he was going to Beijing to appeal. With this ridiculous excuse, Li was sent to the Liuji Brainwashing Class. Currently, Li Zhongming's wife is being illegally detained in the Hewan Forced Labor Camp in Wuhan City. Nobody is taking care of his mother, who is over 80 years old, or his three young children. We appeal to people of justice all over the world to pay attention to his situation.

[Hunan Province] Present Situation of Falun Dafa Disciples in Changsha City and Yueyang City

1. Five Dafa disciples including Zhu Zhiming, Yang Cuier(female), Huang Limin(female), and Yao [given name unknown] went to Beijing with banners to appeal on April 23. Their whereabouts is unknown since they boarded the train to Beijing. It is feared that they have been abducted.
2. Yueyang Dafa disciple Meng Kai was illegally sentenced to 7 years in jail. Meng Ailian was illegally sentenced to 7 years in jail (served outside prison).
3. Yuyang Dafa disciple Wang Taoying (female) was abducted on February 6. She hasn't been released until now. This is the fourth time that she was abducted. Wang Taoying, nearly 60 years old, began to learn to read after she obtained the Fa and eventually she could read the whole book of Zhuan Falun. Zhang Lihong and Yang [given name unknown] were abducted at the same time.

[Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Falun Dafa Disciple Yang Guiyuan Is Missing

Guangzhou Dafa disciple Yang Guiyuan, a medical Ph.D, obtained the Fa in October 1997. On February 8, 2002, when he was meeting with another disciple, he went missing near the 157 Hospital in Guangzhou City. His whereabouts is still unknown. Dafa disciple Feng [given name unknown] was reported missing at the same time.

[Mainland China] Falun Dafa Disciples Forcefully Abducted

Around 11 o'clock on the morning of May 8, 2002 (near the time of lunch break), two people who claimed to be policemen came to Liu Yonghong's office on the 2^nd floor of the Mine Designing Institute. They asked Liu (male) to go with them. Liu asked, "For what reason do you want to capture me? Show me your ID." They didn't reply, but twisted his arms and pressed him to the ground. They beat him with fists, kicked him, and stepped on his head forcefully. His colleagues and supervisors tried to stop them and asked, "Why don't you tell the reason and show your ID before you beat him like this?" Finally, under the strong resistance of the senior cadres in the Institute, the police stopped beating him but still took him away. Later on, it was discovered that they first searched Liu's home and confiscated his computer and other belongings before they came to his work unit to arrest him.
