Understand the Fa from the Fa and Completely Deny the Old Forces' Arrangements

When practitioners do Dafa work such as distributing truth-clarifying flyers, hanging up posters or banners, making truth-clarification materials, or going back home to visit family, they seem to hold a notion that there is "sure" to be danger when they step out. They believe that they are bound to be monitored and could be arrested. They believe they need to avoid the danger, hide their intentions, or take various precautions to protect themselves. They feel that if they don't do so, something is "sure" to happen. By believing this they have acknowledged the persecution and developed a passive attitude. Actually, they are unintentionally accepting the old forces' arrangements. Some might say, "I don't want the evil forces to persecute me. I don't want to be arrested. I want to deny their arrangements. But, won't those bad things happen just because I don't want them to? I won't be persecuted just because I hope not to be? Do my wishes really count? Am I able to deny their arrangements?" Within these thoughts are many human notions. I have come to realize that many dangers and arrests occur because we ask for them ourselves.

Teacher said, "... matter and mind are one thing." (From Zhuan Falun) I came to the understanding that when we think that some dangers are "bound" to happen, a material field formed by that thought will be generated in other spaces. Teacher has also told us, "A practitioner's energy, on the other hand, can be preserved much longer." (From Zhuan Falun) Thus, this field that a practitioner forms is strong. The evil will also strengthen it by trying to make us worry constantly. When the field is strengthened, the evil will be able to exist there and truly make those bad things happen. Those things that we think are "bound to happen" then really will happen. Teacher said, "It is known that what actually causes people to become ill is seventy percent psychological and thirty percent physiological." (From Zhuan Falun)

Teacher also said, "In order for anything to have a foothold in this world, to be able to hold up, and establish itself, there has to be a key factor: It has to form a field in this dimension, a field that's of material existence. Let's take religion for example. The reason it can be established is that during the course of many people's believing, their discussions in firm faith and their worship and so forth form an environment. At the same time, this environment in turn safeguards the religion." (From Teacher's Lecture at the Conference in Europe) And Teacher said, "Human thought can produce what you imagine, and what you think of can become reality. Because people do not have energy, it will dissolve soon after it is created. However, for the great enlightened beings, heavenly people, and high-level lives that have energy, the things they think of will then really exist. Thus, if you want something, it will be created while you are thinking." (From Teacher's Fa Lecture in Sydney) So those so-called dangerous things might be dangerous but our righteous thoughts can restrain them and stop them from happening. Some practitioners however, don't understand this problem from the Fa. They accept the possible danger, unintentionally strengthen it and cause it to come true. They don't use the Fa but ordinary people's notions, asking for those bad things. When we repeatedly think this "might" happen or that "might" happen, we are building a material field for the evil to exist. Then the thing that "might" happen truly happens. Meanwhile, these notions will restrain us from fully using our abilities and cause us to do work for Dafa ineffectively.

Teacher said, "Even each Dafa disciple's every move, every action, every word, and even the questions you ponder, none of it is that simple. In the future you'll see that everything was very carefully arranged. But it's not me who arranged this, it's the old forces who did." (From Teacher's Fa-Lecture at the Conference in Florida, USA) I have come to understand that the old forces made all these arrangements in order to make us accept their tests and do what they want. No thought of ours is coincidental. If we don't understand the problems from the Fa, we won't be able to realize the old forces' arrangements and will unintentionally go along with what they have arranged, acknowledging and accepting their arrangements and tests. We will then continue to be persecuted and taken advantage of, allowing them to exploit our loopholes.

How should we deny and break the arrangements by the old forces? I have come to understand that we need to be in the Fa. We need to study the Fa more and use the Fa as the standard to judge everything, including our every thought, every word, and every action. We need to eliminate all thoughts that have not conformed to the Fa. We need to use our righteous thoughts to correct any thoughts that are unrighteous. It is the old forces' arrangements that make us believe all sorts of degenerated notions, including the notion that we will be arrested if we practice the exercises in public and the deviated notion that it is dangerous to distribute truth-clarifying flyers, to hang up banners, and to make truth-clarification materials. Even ordinary people know that good people should not be arrested. How could we in our mind accept the notion that we will be arrested for practicing Falun Dafa exercises? Have we really kept righteous thoughts as Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples?

When some practitioners learn the Fa, they hold this attachment: I need to study the Fa well in order to avoid the persecution. Yet this thought itself recognizes the arrangements by the old forces. Their basis for studying the Fa is wrong. We study the Fa because we want to assimilate to the Fa and to assist Teacher with rectifying the Fa, and offering people of the world salvation, not because we are trying to avoid the persecution. If we cultivate for the old forces, we will be following their arrangements.

Some practitioners might have this question, "Would our single thought work? We don't need to do anything else?" The answer is definitely yes. Teacher said, "When a practitioner does something specific, it is his or her supernormal abilities that do the work." (From Zhuan Falun) Teacher also said, "Cultivation depends on one's own efforts, while the transformation of gong is done by one's master." (From Zhuan Falun) We are cultivating our thoughts. Teacher told us, "However strong the righteous thoughts are, that's how great the power is." (From Also in a Few Words) My personal understanding is that the key issue is one of belief.

I want to emphasize that in every situation we come across, we need to judge things rationally. We should not go to extremes and we should not just copy what another practitioner does. We need to understand the problem from the Fa. When doing Dafa work in this human world we need to keep righteous thoughts and stay determined at all times.
