From March 5 to the end of this month, lawless police in Changchun City have relentlessly arrested and persecuted Dafa practitioners. No matter whether it was during the daytime or in the night, policemen pried practitioners' doors open or tricked practitioners into detention. Up until mid May, more than 400 practitioners have been detained at the Daguang Detention Center; around 150 practitioners at the so-called "law study class," which is actually a brainwashing class, and over 300 practitioners at the No. 3 Detention Center. Some of these practitioners have been transferred to other places such as labor camps. During their detention, practitioners didn't cooperate with the illegal persecution and many of them held hunger strikes. Some have been on a hunger strike for more than 20 days. Some practitioners in the "law study class" have been on a hunger strike for more than 15 days. More than 100 practitioners in the No. 3 Detention Center also held a hunger strike, risking their own lives to rectify the Fa. Some practitioners have been on a hunger strike for more than 20 days and are too weak to take care of themselves. The thugs completely ignored the practitioners' lives. Some practitioners were sent to a police hospital for further abuse and mistreatment, and some have lost consciousness. Some were tied onto a bed and forcibly given injections. Even in such a brutal environment, practitioners at the No. 3 Detention Center still strive daily for a cultivation environment. They send forth righteous thoughts, do meditation exercises and collectively study the Fa. They regard themselves as practitioners at all times.

In the No. 3 Detention Center, guards forced practitioners to take off all their clothes, then they rummaged through the clothes looking for Dafa materials. Some practitioners refused to cooperate, so the thugs tortured them severely. Under such persecution, practitioners protested with a hunger strike. Some were sent to the police hospital for further torture. The doctors and nurses at the police hospital have no professional morals or ethics whatsoever. They specialize in persecuting Dafa practitioners, and "treat" practitioners with drugs and force-feeding, using very thick feeding tubes. No matter how the evils torture them, practitioners are still determined to cultivate Dafa.

Two practitioners from Jilin City openly and nobly posted a banner reading, "Falun Dafa is the Righteous Fa" in the hallway of a police department. Afterwards, they safely returned with righteous thoughts.

Gansu Province's No.2 Forced Labor Camp is located in the Anning District, Lanzhou City. Some female Dafa practitioners were illegally detained there. At this camp, as long as Dafa practitioners practiced the exercises or spoke loudly, "Falun Dafa is Good," lawless policemen would hang them up by their handcuffs for one week, or even over twenty days.

Since the Dafa truth-clarifying videos were broadcast through the cable TV network, the Security Bureau organized some enterprises to develop a cable TV surveillance system to monitor amplifiers by wireless signal transmission. Once the system is completed, no manpower is needed to monitor the cable. Dafa practitioners who use cable TV to clarify the truth: please pay attention to your safety!

Li Qiang, the newly appointed director of Yitong County in Jilin Province persecuted Dafa practitioners to keep his official position. Since March, officials in Yitong County started another round of persecution against Falun Gong. Dozens of Dafa practitioners have been illegally arrested and some of them even have been illegally sentenced to forced labor. At the beginning of April, policemen often went to Dafa practitioners' homes to get fingerprints and record Dafa practitioners' biographical data. They treated Dafa practitioners as criminals. Before May 1^st, police authorities again forced Dafa practitioners to sign the ready-made "guarantee statement" and "separation statement;" otherwise, they would illegally detain Dafa practitioners. This latest round of suppression is the reason why lots of Dafa practitioners were forced to leave their homes to avoid being arrested. But the vile persons were still not satisfied. They claimed openly through TV that, after May 1^st, they would arrest all the Dafa practitioners who live in exile or work out of town.

After the May 1^st holiday, the police authorities used the excuse that May 13^th was a "sensitive day" to trace Dafa practitioners everywhere. Now in each unit, officials must be on duty to track Dafa practitioners, which forced Dafa practitioners to live in exile. The thugs also harassed Dafa practitioners' families. Furthermore, vile persons in Yitong County spread many horrible rumors about Dafa practitioners to frighten local people. They attempted to make people hate Dafa practitioners. They also hired individuals to monitor practitioners.

According to policemen in Changchun City, whoever arrests a Dafa practitioner could get 1,000 Yuan award [500 Yuan is the average monthly income in urban areas of China] from the police authority. Therefore, some flunkies, tempted by the benefits, are relentlessly kidnapping practitioners. Up to now, over 5,000 practitioners have been arrested.

Officials in Jiujiang City's Detention Center force Dafa practitioners to work more than 20 hours each day, allowing them only 3 hours of sleep. Many Dafa practitioners are mistreated in this way, including Shen Jinhong, Zhang Haiyu, and Chen Xiaolan.

Dafa practitioner Mr. Shan Jincheng from Tianhe Section of the Guangshen Company used to be a voluntary Falun Gong contact person in the Baiyun District. In March 2001, Shan was arrested on the street and was sentenced to one year of forced labor at the Chini Forced Labor Camp in the Huadu District, Guangzhou City because he persisted in practicing Falun Dafa. After Shan's term had expired, because he defied brainwashing, he was forcibly sent to Shenzhen City for additional brainwashing in mid April 2002. Even his family members don't know exactly where he is now detained. According to people who know his situation, Shan is currently being held at the Longjing Asylum in the Nantou District, Shenzhen City.
