(Clearwisdom.net) On April 27, practitioners from Atlanta participated in a Chinese community sporting event held at a local high school. The event, the 13th Southeast Chinese Games, was organized by the Chinese activity center and the Chinese Community Association. Many organizations and individuals totaling over 1500 people participated in the event. It was the first local sporting event that Falun Gong practitioners have participated in. The Falun Gong practitioners formed a team and walked in the opening ceremony. Quite a few practitioners served as volunteer judges, and their hard work left a good impression on the participants of the event. The event gave practitioners a good opportunity to clarify the truth. They found that clarifying the truth face to face has very good effects.
Practitioners joined the competitions in many events. During the breaks many people came to chat with practitioners. Many wanted to learn Dafa exercises, and some asked questions. One gentleman said, "I read lots of things about Falun Gong but could not really trust what was said in the paper. Through talking with your guys, I was able to better understand you. You are among us. You are truly good. Thank you."
A gentleman in his 50's chatted with practitioners before an event. He was very active in physical exercise, and he became very interested in Falun Gong principles. Practitioners took the opportunity to explain to him the difference between physical exercise and meditation, as well as the benefits of Falun Gong. When practitioners congratulated him on his first place finish, to the practitioners' surprise, he said, "Do you know while running, I was thinking about what you told me - that I need to have a peaceful mind."
A lady teaching in the university made friends with several practitioners. In the end she asked, "Are Falun Gong practitioners all as good as you?" She already found the answer. She still did not believe so many people died in persecution, nor did she understand why her friend in China said bad things about Falun Gong. Practitioners clarified the truth to her and pointed out that all of the media are controlled by the Jiang regime, and the Chinese people are deceived and need to know the truth. Finally she understood and wanted to keep in touch with practitioners.
The games lasted seven hours and concluded at about 4 p.m. The games offered a good opportunity for the practitioners to go into Chinese community to clarify the truth face to face. Situated among them, people felt practitioners' compassion and truthfulness, and many wanted to come to learn Falun Dafa. The Jiang regime's lies quickly lost its credibility among these people.
