1. A Former Village Chairman Receives Retribution

Wang Guosheng used to be the village chairman of Xiangshuiya Village located inWutu Town, Changle County, Weifang City, Shandong Province. Since July 20, 1999, he participated willingly in the persecution of Falun Dafa. He confiscated and burned books and videotapes pertaining to Dafa. These books and videotapes belonged to fellow villagers, some even to his relatives. He defaced posters and notices that villagers had posted to promote Dafa. He also denounced practitioners. On August 16, 2001, Mr. Wang suffered a head injury during a fight. His hospital expenses were nearly 10,000 Yuan (almost 50 times the average monthly income in rural China). In April of 2002, he lost the election for village chairman.

2. Natural Disaster Strikes City Again as the Weifang City Government Persecutes Falun Dafa

The temperature dropped uncharacteristically on the night of April 24, 2002 and into the following morning. The temperature reached a low of -5^oC (23^oF). Official reports estimate the agricultural loss and damage to exceed 1.7 billion Yuan.
