Individual cultivation is to reach Consummation. Can we reach Consummation simply by yelling, "I want to reach Consummation, I want to reach Consummation?" Consummation can only be accomplished through solid cultivation. Similarly, when we talk about "denying all of the old forces' arrangements," and "denying all demonic tribulations and interference," can we really deny them by simply talking about it?

Some practitioners also say, "Even if I have attachments, it does not mean that the evil should use that to test me." I feel that such an understanding is not rational. First, we need to clearly understand: why should we deny the old forces' arrangements? It is because if we don't, Fa-rectification will be in vain. When we are clear about this, what we need to consider further is how we can deny their arrangements. It's not sufficient to merely yell at the old forces, "I don't accept it." Let's read again the part in "Touring North America to Teach the Fa" from "If this old Fa were destroyed too early" to "It is all because you have not done well enough that all the Gods are being restrained by the Fa principles of the old cosmos and can do nothing no matter how anxious they are."

When we have not done well enough even when judged by the principles and standards of the old cosmos, for example calling out "Mom!" when we are being beaten, will it work if we just think in our minds, "I don't acknowledge it?" The old forces are Gods, (of course, judged by Dafa's standards, they no longer can be considered gods), and as they strictly follow the old Fa principles to do things, they will still test you whether you acknowledge it or not. When we look carefully at the process of how those practitioners with righteous thoughts successfully got out of the evil's lair rather than simply at the end-result of "getting out," we can see the improvement of these practitioners' thinking during the process; their improved and clearer understanding of Fa principles; the abandonment of their attachments; their stronger faith in Teacher and Dafa; or their salvation of people that had been poisoned, etc. None of them got out by merely entertaining the thought, "I deny all the arrangements of the old forces." All of them got out through an elevation of their xinxing level and understanding of the Fa principles.
