A Child Growing Up During the Tribulation

In the countryside of Gansu Province in China, there is a couple that practices Falun Gong. In the autumn of 2000, they were detained illegally in forced labor camps because they appealed to the Chinese government. Their 15-year-old daughter and two sons aged 10 and 8 were left at home alone, without their parents to care for them.

The following is the young girl's story -

I am from the countryside of China. I am 15 years old. My parents attained the Fa in 1997. Before practicing Falun Gong, they were very ill. After the practice, they experienced great changes in their health and in their minds within a very short period. There was happiness in our family. Later, both of my younger brothers also started to practice Falun Gong.

On the July 20, 1999, my parents went to Beijing to appeal to the government, as a result, they were detained for a month in the detention center. Later, my Mom went to Beijing to appeal again. My Dad was kidnapped by the local police. They beat up my Dad very brutally and unlawfully sent him to the detention center for a long time. My younger brothers and I were facing unimaginable difficulties. It was harvest season in summer, and I could not go to school. I had to ask my neighbors to help us. It took us great efforts to bring the grain home. Every night, my tears wet the pillowcase. Looking at my two brothers, I missed my parents but I never had any resentment. Jiang's followers detained them because of their faith in the truth. It made me become stronger. Every time, when my two brothers were crying and missing our parents, I told them Teacher Li said: "It's not a bad thing to suffer and experience some misery." (Lecture at the First Conference in North America) I told them: "Mom and Dad will be back soon."

Jiang directs the bad people. The local officials drove twenty to thirty people to my home, and ignoring the pleas from the neighbors, they broke into my home and stole our grain harvest, a television, a video player, etc. without restraint. They are committing acts that trample citizens' human rights.

One day in January 2001, the police took my Mom away from home. My Dad was also put in detention when he took personal items to her. Those corrupt people held a large public gathering called a "Judgement Meeting" [Note: basically a public forum to accuse people without charges or trial] on January 19, 2001. The wicked police tied my parents and many other Falun Gong practitioners with lots of ropes, they even hung a two-inch long white board with slanderous words around their necks! My parents were sent to the labor camps after the meeting without benefit of formal charges or a trial or legal representation.

When my parents were ill and treated in the hospital, they could not work. None of the local officers ever cared about it. They did not even allow the taxes we had to hand in to be one cent short! When my parents became healthy in mind and body after practicing Falun Gong, they could serve the society better, but they were sent to jail by Jiang's regime.

I feel very sad when I think that so many people still regard Falun Gong as an enemy and treat Falun Gong practitioners viciously because they believe the lies of Jiang - the enemy of all of humanity. No matter what happens, the evil cannot stop human beings from believing in "Truth, Compassion, and Forbearance."
