Citation of World Falun Dafa Day, State Assembly, New York [May 13, 2002]

New York State Assembly

Whereas, On this festive day, it is a fitting occasion to pause and reflect on the accomplishments of an exceptional organization of character and competence, and;

Whereas, It is the traditional of the New York State Assembly to celebrated the accomplishments of its finest organization, and;

Whereas, Falun Dafa is a self improvement practice consisting of exercises, meditation and teachings originating in ancient Chinese culture, and;

Whereas, as founder of Falun Dafa, Mister Li Hong Zhi has, through his selfless and tireless efforts to benefit others, educated over 100 million people of all social backgrounds, races and cultures in more than 50 countries to the benefits of practicing the universal principals of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance," and;

Whereas, practitioners of Falun Dafa have remained true to the teachings of Mister Li Hong Zhi and demonstrated the great compassion and tolerance under the most severe environment, that has touched the hearts of every kind hearted human being world-wide; now therefore be it

Resolved, that as a duly elected member of the State Assembly of New York, I proclaim May 13^th World Falun Dafa Day and extend best wishes to the practitioners for their commitment to non-violence and peace in the community, and encourage the Brooklyn residence to find out more about the benefits of Falun Dafa, a system that many say can have positive effects on one's quality of life.
