My Righteous Mother

(Clearwisdom.net) I'm a Dafa practitioner from Hebei Province. At the end of 2000, my ex-husband requested a divorce after failing to force me to give up Falun Dafa using all ways possible. During this period, my mother always supported me and rejected my husband's unreasonable demands many times. My mother also clarified the truth about Falun Gong to our relatives and friends. I lived with my mother after the divorce. She helped me organize and safeguard Dafa materials and sometimes would help me to distribute truth-clarifying materials.

In 2001, people from my work unit came to take me away to a brainwashing class, but my mother helped me to get away while she distracted them by clarifying the truth. After I had moved away from home, the leaders of my work unit came to my home many times to harass my family. Each time, my mother had conflicts with them. Later, when the leaders came to my home, they always treated my mother with respect, explaining, "We have no choice because of pressure from higher authorities. We know that it is not your daughter who is causing us trouble, but it is we who are causing you trouble." In order to make a living, I found a temporary job. But within a month, I was publicly abducted and taken to a brainwashing class by authorities from my workplace, higher level government authorities, the "610 Office" and police. As soon as my mother heard about this, she called the leaders of my workplace and questioned them, "What kind of crime did my daughter commit? Why did you treat her like this but a turn blind eye to real criminals? If anything happens to her, you will be held responsible." She took the chance of visiting me to pass Master's new articles to me. She also sent out the news of my being captured. Once other local practitioners heard about the news, they spread the news widely and posted truth-clarifying material near the brainwashing class, effectively frightening the evils.

Several of us Dafa practitioners did not cooperate with the evils' forcible brainwashing at all. Since they couldn't achieve their goal, they illegally detained me at the No.2 Detention Center. During this period, my mother often brought me Master's newest articles and Dafa materials. This way, we could all read Master's lectures in time and keep up with the Fa-rectification process.

One month later, I was handcuffed behind my back for validating Dafa at the detention center. Later my hands were cuffed in front. The detention center prohibited my family from visiting me and would not release my handcuffs unless I admitted my "error." But when they saw how other Dafa practitioners effectively explained to all the other people detained there why I suffered such types of treatments, they gave up and let my mother see me, hoping she would persuade me to give up Dafa. My mother cried as soon as she saw me, and did not say much at all. I told my mother everything that happened to me and consoled her.

Later, several practitioners enlightened that we should not passively forbear the persecution. We are not guilty and should be unconditionally released. We began a hunger strike when there was no reply to our request. When my mother got the news, she went to see the director of the detention center from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., requesting him to release us. She spoke with justice, "My child didn't violate the law. Why was she detained? You cannot forcibly feed her. If something happens, none of you can shirk your responsibility." The director could do nothing but avoid seeing my mother. They didn't dare to excessively persecute me. With my mother's help, they released me the next day. On the day my mother came to pick me up, the detention center director apologized to her as soon as he saw her. He explained that he didn't want to do that to me but it was his job, etc. He said to my father later that his wife (my mother) was really unusual. My father also learned some truth about Dafa from this incident; he has read the truth-clarifying materials I gave him since then.

Shortly after I was released, my work unit and the police wanted to send me to the brainwashing class again. I was not at home when they came. My mother was angry when she saw the police and people from my work unit had come again. She said, "When is the end of this? When? Last time you almost killed my child. You came again as soon as she got a little bit better. Do you want to kill her?" They left because my mother refused to let them in. I heard that four police cars went to my home later trying to arrest me again. After I left home to avoid being arrested, my mother blocked off the harassment from my work unit. She kept reminding me to be careful not to let them find me. Under my mother's influence, my brother and sister-in-law also helped to protect me.

One time, I was followed by a plainclothes policeman to my sister's apartment, and was there when the police came to arrest me. When they told my sister to open the door, she firmly refused and told me, "Don't worry, I will not open the door for them." I left my sister's seventh floor apartment safely down the drainpipe. Under Master's merciful protection, I returned to the current of Fa-rectification. My sister felt scared afterwards, but my mother told her "Don't be afraid! You did the right thing. The more you are afraid, the more they will harass you. Don't pay attention to their threats of laying off your husband from work; their words do not count."

One fellow practitioner nobly and righteously came out of the detention center. My mother helped her to find a place to stay and took care of her. When she was arrested again, my mother helped to transfer her remaining truth-clarifying materials to other practitioners. Like this, my mother protected us with her noble spirit. She often tells the truth about Dafa to her acquaintances. When someone could not understand, my mother would explain the principles in the simplest way and with examples. Whenever she saw truth-clarifying materials, she would pass them to others. With her influence, all the other members of my family also used various ways to help protect me.
