On the Third Anniversary of July 20, 1999, a Series of Activities with the Theme "Together We End the Persecution" To Be Held in Washington DC

(Clearwisdom.net) On the third anniversary of July 20, 1999, U.S. Dafa practitioners and supporters will hold a series of activities with the theme "Together We End the Persecution of Falun Gong" in Washington D.C from late July 20 to the afternoon of July 23.

On July 20, 1999, Jiang began the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners out of spite and jealousy. He abused his power to use the state-run propaganda machine, fabricating rumors and bringing false charges against Falun Gong, creating terror, barriers and hatred. For the past three years, hundreds of millions of innocent Falun Gong practitioners have suffered cruel persecution. More than 100,000 practitioners were sent to jails, forced labor camps and mental hospitals. Thousands of practitioners were tortured to death. And these atrocities continue.

Jiang's persecution of Falun Gong has extended to all Chinese people, including those abroad. It is even spreading quietly among democratic countries. This persecution is not only aimed at tens of millions of Falun Gong practitioners in China, but it is also aimed at people around the world who want to believe and follow "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance." It is a cruel trampling of justice, morality and conscience. The recent events, including the use of a blacklist provided by the Jiang regime to bar practitioners entry into a democratic country, and also the incidents where Chinese consulates and embassies have willfully harassed and defamed Falun Gong practitioners, sound an alarm for people who love peace, cherish the freedom of belief and want to uphold social morality and law.

Therefore, Falun Gong practitioners around the world are doing their best to let people and governments in the world know the truth of the persecution and also the extent of the persecution.

This large-scale activity for the third anniversary of July 20 includes a candlelight concert in front of the Lincoln Memorial on Saturday, July 20, entitled "The Path Toward Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance." In the evening of July 21, there will be a large group exercise and candlelight vigil in front of the Washington Monument. On Monday, July 22, they will hold a cultivation experience sharing conference and a concert entitled "Voice of Light" in order to thank everyone for their kind support. On Tuesday, July 23, there will be a large parade. They welcome people from all walks of life to join and learn the truth about Falun Gong, and actively participate in the effort to help end the persecution!
