1. Continuously sending forth-righteous thoughts in front of the Chinese Embassy

In this four-day series of activities with the theme, "Together to End the Persecution of Falun Gong," sending forth-righteous thoughts and clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa in front of the Chinese Embassy was an important part of the whole event.

July 20, 2002 marked the 3^rd anniversary since Jiang's political gang of scoundrels began perversely persecuting millions of Falun Gong practitioners. According to insiders, over 100,000 innocent Falun Gong practitioners have been wrongfully arrested or imprisoned. In order to call on people to recognize as soon as possible the evil nature of the Jiang regime and come together to end the persecution of Falun Gong, practitioners from all over the U.S. came to the "Tiananmen Garden" in front of the Chinese Embassy to send forth righteous thoughts, clarify the truth, study the Fa, and share experiences.

During the one-day activity, practitioners kept the "Tiananmen Garden" very quiet. Practitioners all felt very peaceful, simple and pure. Practitioners who needed to discuss something or share experiences consciously went to other places to talk. Everyone took the Fa and the whole body of practitioners as priorities, which greatly enhanced the quality of studying the Fa and sending forth righteous thoughts. In the evening, practitioners held a candlelight vigil to mourn the practitioners who were tortured or beaten to death.

The activity of sending forth-righteous thoughts in front of the Chinese Embassy will go on for four days, until July 23.

2. Using cultural activities to clarify the truth

On July 20, 2002, from 11:30 AM to 4 PM, practitioners from the U.S. and Canada who were also good at singing or dancing held a series of cultural activities on The Mall in Washington DC, using art performances to clarify the truth about Dafa. The theme of the activity was: "Through Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, Let's Get Together for Peace." The visitors warmly received the activity.

Ms. Zhang Cuiying's art painting exhibition and a photo exhibition reflecting the worldwide spreading of Falun Dafa were also held at the same time, which attracted a great deal of attention from visitors.

3. "Journey to Truth-Compassion-Forbearance" concert in the open air

At 9 PM on July 20, 2002, practitioners from the U.S., Canada, Taiwan and other areas successfully held an entirely new sort of candlelight concert at the famous Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC. Renowned artists and other practitioners with special talents gave performances including chorus, singing solos, dance solos, piano solos and so on.

At the end of the performance, performers and the whole audience together sang the song, "Falun Dafa Is Good." The sound was energetic and magnificent, displaying the character of Dafa practitioners. The concert successfully concluded around 11 PM.

4. A large-scale candlelight vigil in front of the Washington Monument

On July 21, 2002, starting from 8 PM, in front of the world-renowned Washington Monument, more than 1000 practitioners from the U.S., Canada, Taiwan and other areas held a large-scale candlelight vigil to mourn the hundreds of practitioners in China who have been tortured to death over the past 3 years of persecution by the Jiang regime. Meanwhile, practitioners asked people to pay attention to this issue and called on all of society to take action together to end the Jiang regime's persecution of Falun Gong as soon as possible.

Over a thousand practitioners sat on mats and formed four huge Chinese words, "Fa Lun Da Fa," which attracted lots of attention from visitors in the flickering candlelight.

This candlelight vigil concluded around 10:30 PM.
