Vancouver, Canada: Practitioners Call on the International Community to Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On the occasion of the 3rd anniversary of the
persecution of Falun Gong, which began on July 20, 1999, Falun Gong
practitioners from Vancouver held activities at the plaza in front of the
downtown art museum to call on the international community to work together to
end the atrocities that have been going on for 3 years. Major local media sent
reporters to cover the event.
The theme was to call on people from all walks of life to come together to
pay attention to this persecution of good people following the principle of
"Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" and at the same time to display the beauty
of Falun Dafa through our activities.
Large banners reading, "We End Persecution" and "Truth-Compassion-Tolerance"
in both Chinese and English, as well as banners displaying the number of
practitioners who have been tortured or beaten to death, were hung on the steps
in the plaza. Falun Dafa posters were displayed on one side of the plaza. Photos
and letters from a local practitioner's relative who was imprisoned and tortured
to death in China were prominently displayed. Practitioners also set up a booth
to hand out hand-made paper lotus flowers and practitioner-designed art cards.
The entire plaza was filled with a solemn and peaceful atmosphere.
Most practitioners wore white T-shirts imprinted with "Falun Dafa" and
"Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" and white pants. They continuously
demonstrated the 5-sets of Falun Gong exercises. Three practitioners did the
fifth exercise (sitting meditation) on three large lotus flowers set out in
front. Passersby came over to request Dafa information or stopped in their steps
to watch the exercise demonstration. Practitioners introduced Dafa and clarified
the truth to them.
The activities started at 9 AM and ended at 10 PM. Despite several days of
continuous long-distance travel and parades, some practitioners who had gone to
Edmonton and Calgary to join events there had driven overnight to get back in
time for this event. Activities were to continue on July 21 in Chinatown.
Practitioners cooperated with each other harmoniously and took the initiative
to allow more and more people to learn the truth about the persecution and at
the same time, witness the beauty of Dafa.
During the activities, there were unfortunately some people interfering with
us by constantly repeating slanderous words on the other side of the street.
Practitioners did not pay attention to them, allowing passersby to see
practitioners' peacefulness and righteousness in contrast to the evil.
Practitioners sent righteous thoughts and the troublemakers left before we had
even completed 5-minutes.
