Second Trip to Dominica During the 2002 Nature Fest (Photos)


During my first trip to promote the Fa in the beginning of May in Dominica, one of my friends told me about a Nature Fest that would take place at the beginning of June (31 May- 9 June).

When I came back to Guadeloupe, I shared my experiences in Dominica, where I met a lot of kind-hearted people and asked them to participate in the Nature Fest. Some practitioners then decided to help to promote the Fa to the neighbouring island of Guadeloupe. We organized a group of four practitioners to go on the trip. Those who could not come participated by helping to pay for the guest house and food. We went there by boat and took part in the Nature Fest activities. A fifth practitioner joined us later.

A lot of Dominicans came to the Falun Dafa tent, so we taught them the exercises and clarified the truth to them.

People with predestined relationships came to learn the exercises and were happy to meet us. Some people said that they were looking for a complete cultivation method, and the children enjoyed our demonstration and took pictures of us.

We also clarified the truth to the local Chinese community. Many of them were surprised and a little suspicious because of the Chinese propaganda, but most of them read the truth-clarification materials carefully.

Three of us had to leave because of other commitments, but two decided to stay longer. Dominique, a practitioner born in Africa, decided to go to the Indian Reserve in the north of Dominica.

I decided to stay in Roseau, the capital, and try to clarify the truth of the persecution to the media again. I gave CD's about the history of Falun Gong to some journalists.

After I gave them the magazine "Women of Conscience," the director of a TV station (TV SAT) decided to produce a program on the persecution in China. During the program, I answered questions about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China.

As a result of our efforts, a young Dominican man decided to become the local contact in Dominica after learning the exercises and reading Dafa books.

The Saturday before my departure, I decided to send forth righteous thoughts in front of the Chinese Embassy. Upon arriving in front of the Embassy, I discovered that it was the Embassy of Taiwan instead of Mainland China, but I decided to stay anyway to send righteous thoughts. After sending forth righteous thoughts, I rang the doorbell hoping to give the staff some truth-clarification materials.

A man opened the door and after finding out that I was a Falun Gong practitioner, he invited me in warmly. We talked like old friends for about an hour. He seemed to be quite happy to share the company of a Western Falun Gong practitioner and was surprised to see Falun Gong in the Caribbean. From this I realized that sometimes even when we take a "wrong turn," it can turn out well after all.

We decided that we should do more and spread the Fa in the other Caribbean islands. We asked English-speaking practitioners who had the free time to come with us to St. Lucia and Barbados.
