Falun Dafa Practitioners in Canada Attend the Grand "Washing for Gold Festival" Parade in Edmonton (Photos)

On July 18, the annual "Washing for Gold Festival" parade in the City of Edmonton, Alberta Province set off after the Mayor, Mr. Bill, delivered the opening remarks. Led by an honor guard, over 100 groups representing local communities and cultural organizations joined the parade. Among these traditional western-styled processions, only the Falun Dafa entry was in an Asian style. It consisted of a float and a dance team and was particularly attractive. The beautiful float decorated with a huge Falun emblem, big lotus flowers on white clouds, colorful flowers and balloons, and gigantic banners reading, "The World Needs Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" brought people something completely fresh and new.

The dance team followed the float. The traditional Chinese Fan Dance performed by 8 female practitioners deeply impressed the spectators. Wherever the Dafa procession passed, a brief introduction of Falun Dafa and the praise of the spirit of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" were broadcast through the big loudspeaker. Both sides of the parade route were filled with enthusiastic crowds estimated to be over several thousand. When our float and procession passed by, people warmly applauded. More than ten TV and radio stations reported on this year's "Washing for Gold Festival" Parade.
