Bo Xun News: The Guilty Verdict Discredits China's Ruling Party

(Clearwisdom.net) A non-practitioner's critical article was published on August 21 in Bo Xun News, which stated, "The Trial of Falun Gong" in Hong Kong damaged the image of the ruling Party in China. The Party only gained minimal benefits with respect to reinforcing its propaganda against Falun Gong, but instead of helping the Party to better control Hong Kong, it may have created the opposite effect.

The verdict cannot stop Falun Gong from continuing to appeal. Meanwhile, the image of the Party has been greatly diminished. The majority of the reports from both Hong Kong and the international media carried negative views on both the Party and the Hong Kong government. Both the trial and the verdict have revealed the disgusting image of the Party and have caused the image of Hong Kong to continuously diminish as well.

From the beginning, Falun Gong practitioners have done their best to widely spread the facts of the trial in the hope of raising awareness of the public to the maximum. After the verdict, the Falun Gong practitioners took several actions to protest the verdict such as appealing to a higher court and refusing to pay the fines; thus extending the event and its impact. In particular, the action of refusing to pay the fines leaves the Hong Kong authorities no way to easily put the case behind them. If they take even more drastic measures toward Falun Gong, there will be even more criticism from the international community.

The reason the trial has produced this outcome may be closely related to the fact that Jiang's regime does not have a correct understanding of the situation in Hong Kong. They probably thought that since Hong Kong is under the control of China now, it should not be a major problem to follow Mainland China's approach in dealing with several people.

If this event were held in Guangzhou, it would be very "easily and quickly" done because the public would not be able to see the defense arguments for Falun Gong or all the on-site photos. They would not see or hear the defending testimony of witnesses for Falun Gong, would not hear the words regarding this event from the Falun Gong practitioners themselves, and would not know that Falun Gong has numerous supporters from the public and media in Hong Kong and in the international community. Jiang's regime does not seem to realize that a high degree of openness and transparency is the major difference between Hong Kong and China. All the conduct of Jiang's regime, which can easily be covered up inside China, will be easily exposed in Hong Kong. The Party cannot survive in any place with a bright light. Jiang's regime is doomed to be discredited this time because it simply does not understand this fundamental principle.
