(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Zhang Yufen was an excellent young instructor at the Changchun Technology and Engineering University. She is currently being persecuted in the Xinglongshan brainwashing class in Changchun City, and is in a very dangerous situation. In June 2002, the University Party Secretary Wang Guozhong, the former Security Department Director Chen Yuwen, together with the local 610 Office [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] of Changchun and the College Party Secretary Zhang Wenxuan, kidnapped Zhang Yufen and forced her to attend the Xinglongshan brainwashing class. During the class she has been persecuted in various ways. She has been locked in a room by herself, not allowed to communicate with any outside people, not allowed to leave the room even for meals, has totally lost her personal freedom, and she was forced to read government propaganda materials slandering Dafa.

The Changchun Technology and Engineering University was originally named the Changchun Optical and Engineering Institute. Since July 22, 1999, the university together with the residential committee and the police substation has persecuted its own students and employees who practice Falun Gong. Dafa practitioners were sent to forced labor camps, detention centers and brainwashing classes. At the end of this April, the University Party Secretary Wang Guozhong cut off the pensions of six retired Dafa practitioners and three current employees' supplemental pay, including Zhang Yufen's.

Later, they tempted practitioners' family members with money, promising that as long as they sent Dafa practitioners to brainwashing classes the money would be returned, and falsely claiming that the salary would be the same during the brainwashing period. Driven by concern for money, Zhang Yufeng's husband sent his own wife to the brainwashing class, where she was then forced into a police car and sent to the Xinglongshan brainwashing class in Changchun. During this period, her husband decided to divorce her under intense pressure. Beset by pressure from all sides and unable to endure the abuse, Zhang Yufeng jumped from a fourth story building. She broke her neck during the fall and is currently in serious condition.

In the Entrance Examination for Ph.D. students in 2001, Dafa practitioner Zhang Yuefen scored the second highest grade and was accepted. However, because she firmly practices Falun Dafa, Graduate Student Department Director Hu Fengchu took her name off the list. They lied, saying that she hadn't scored high enough, but the true situation was later revealed..
