The 2002 Asian Pacific Falun Dafa Experience Sharing Conference Convenes in Seoul, South Korea

The 2002 Asian Pacific Falun Dafa Experience Sharing Conference convened on September 7-8 in Seoul, the capitol of South Korea. Over one thousand Falun Dafa practitioners from many countries and regions attended, including practitioners from the US, Canada, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. During the two days of the conference, practitioners participated in a parade, held group practice, made the words for "Truth-Compassion-Tolerance" by practitioners sitting in long rows, distributed truth-clarifying materials, and held a vigil for fellow practitioners who have died from the persecution in China. All of these activities exposed the crimes of Jiang and his regime against Falun Dafa. Practitioners from each country shared their experiences in clarifying the facts of Falun Dafa and saving sentient beings worldwide.

At noon on September 7, a parade was held in memory of fellow practitioners who died for their belief in Falun Dafa. Along the parade route, practitioners handed out fans printed with words introducing Falun Dafa or clarifying the truth of Dafa and the persecution. The public welcomed the Dafa disciples and treated them with respect and admiration. The police closed half of the street for Dafa disciples to demonstrate the standing exercises and meditation. More than one thousand practitioners performed the standing exercises together on the street, creating a magnificent scene. The activity ended with speeches by representatives from each country.

Practitioners from nearly ten countries shared their experiences. Some were Western Falun Dafa practitioners, whose deep understanding of Dafa moved them to travel to China to clarify the truth to the Chinese people who have been deceived by Jiang's lies. Their courage in the face of this dangerous situation is greatly admired by all Chinese practitioners, both inside China and overseas. Some of the speakers were Chinese practitioners who had escaped this most evil and difficult persecution. In sharing their personal stories they revealed the evilness and cruelness of Jiang's persecution towards Falun Dafa and Dafa practitioners. Practitioners from Hong Kong told how the Hong Kong government, under pressure from Jiang and his regime, dared to put sixteen Falun Dafa practitioners on trial. Korean practitioners shared their experiences of going to China to rectify the Fa, where they worked continuously to tell the Chinese people the truth of Falun Dafa and to expose the persecution. Practitioners from other countries and regions also shared their experiences in clarifying the truth of Dafa and exposing the persecution to the world's people. The letter written on behalf of all attendees to our merciful, magnificent Master was read.

This Fa conference was very profound, moving, and manifested the solid, unshakeable faith that Falun Dafa practitioners have in Master in Fa-rectification. The atmosphere in the conference hall was always solemn and peaceful.

The preparation of this conference met with much interference. The evil forces tried with all their might to stop the successful opening of the conference. Facing many difficulties, the local practitioners solidified their righteous belief, and patiently clarified the truth to government officials and government employees during the whole process of applying for permits. They told people of the greatness of Falun Dafa, and finally won the understanding and support from each of the departments they worked with in order to secure the required permits. Some government officials even came to learn Falun Dafa, along with members of their families. As the activities of this first Fa Conference drew to a close, several government officials called to congratulate us. The Korea Central TV station reported on the grand opening of the "2002 Asian Pacific Falun Dafa Conference."

The success of this Fa conference showed the mighty virtue of Dafa and the steadfastness of Dafa disciples. It is certain that Dafa will bring a wonderful future to the governments and people who support Falun Dafa. Because of the success of the conference, Korean practitioners will be able to do even better in clarifying the truth and saving sentient beings.
